This week, we opened a call to fund a new Industry-Academia Network to bridge the cybersecurity skills gap. It will:  🤝 strengthen the ties between industry and academia,   🕵️ boost cybersecurity skills,   🛡️ prepare the European cyber workforce for emerging needs. The network will create joint curricula, mentorship programmes, apprenticeships, and other programmes to align training with needs. INTACT is looking to drive advancements in healthcare data security, aiming to optimize and test cybersecurity measures for sensitive healthcare data, supporting better patient care and operational readiness. 🏨 The Replicated Virtual Environment at 5YPE's General Hospital, developed within the SPHINX project, in collaboration with Pasiphae Lab (HMU), will serve as the foundation for our healthcare technology use case. This advanced environment integrates essential elements of healthcare IoT, creating a secure and efficient ecosystem for data management across critical hospital systems. Built on an Edge-to-Cloud topology with LAN, Wi-Fi, and Fiber connectivity, it ensures seamless integration across hospital networks. Through the simulation of data from various medical devices and IT systems, the environment is able to test and enhance cybersecurity measures in real time, hence promoting resilience and operational efficiency. Fruitful discussions during the first day of the Kick off meeting. Our fourth use case plans to leverage the Network Operations Center (NOC) of Inst. of Nanoscience and Nanotechnology, NCSR"Demokritos" in Greece, a state-of-the-art core network with an optical backbone. NOC supports SDN/NFV virtualization for IoT Edge Cloud and integrates a wide range of campus radiation/environmental sensors. Building on its success in the SANCUS project, the NOC will again play a key role in coordinating software/firmware threat inspections and optimizing cybersecurity testing for next-generation IoT applications. By utilizing this advanced infrastructure, we aim to push the boundaries of secure IoT operations, with a particular focus on the safe integration of sensitive environments like nuclear reactors into the broader IoT ecosystem. INTACT is looking to develop cutting-edge use cases for a cybersecurity toolbox. One of our use cases will integrate with the AVL’s HyTruck Fuel Cell Test Infrastructure, incorporating Transportation Thread Models, a Security Testing Catalog, and a Software-in-the-Loop (SiL) environment. The toolbox will support key objectives, including: • Testing of security and privacy aspects across the automotive life cycle. • Over-the-air software updates for fuel cell truck systems. • Strengthening the DevSecOps cycle with advanced feedback loops to refine threat models. This will enable us to implement DevSecOps Twinning and security control processes for the fuel cell and IoT systems in the truck, ensuring a more secure, resilient transportation ecosystem. We're excited to announce the officially start the INTACT Project. Today, in Berlin, the consortium members meet for the Kick off meeting. INTACT aims to develop an Integrated Software Toolbox aimed at revolutionizing cybersecurity sensing, optimization, and management across the distributed IoT-to-Cloud continuum. Our goal? To continuously maximize infrastructure security and data privacy while minimizing impact on computing capacity, energy use, and business costs. We are achieving this by replicating the continuum as virtual dataspaces to safely stress-test attack surfaces, predict risks, and apply pre-emptive protections—without affecting real system operations. Key highlights of the project approach: ✅ Scalability & Interoperability through open standards, APIs, and AI-driven automation. ✅ Zero-Trust Security across hardware, systems, and applications, with advanced Identity & Access Management. ✅ Sustainability with a focus on reducing energy consumption and lowering CO2 footprints. ✅ Real-world validation across use cases in Telcos, Health 4.0, Transportation, Nuclear Infrastructures, and Smart Cities.
