Professional development for coaches and leaders so students experience better learning, better lives.
About us
The Instructional Coaching Group (ICG), led by Jim Knight and his colleagues, has been studying instructional coaching for more than two decades. The goal of that research and of the broader work of ICG is that every student receives excellent instruction, every day, in every class. Our research has helped us identify several factors that are essential for developing and sustaining a great coaching program. We help people in organizations learn and implement these factors, habits, and strategies through workshops, coaching, consulting, and other forms or support.

"I would say that there are many tools and interventions such as the ones you've mentioned, gratitude, mindfulness, self compassion, but I think we need to send the message to hold them lightly." In episode 103 of Coaching Conversations, Jim Knight sits down with Dr. Suzy Green from The Positivity Institute in Sydney 🇦🇺 for a discussion about #positivepsychology and #coaching: https://ow.ly/IqC250UmEOG Please like & follow if you enjoy 👍

Careless words in response to what someone says can negate another person's comment and create the same impact as not listening at all. There are two techniques here, and both are important. First, we pause, and second we think about what we will say before we speak. -ICG Better Conversations: https://ow.ly/PFye50Um5fb

In 2013 I wrote the first book on video in education. I thought I knew quite a bit, but my knowledge has exploded through the chance to learn from Kate Bieschke. Her practical ideas, how to make video an everyday part of instructional coaching have been super helpful to me and I’m sure they’re helpful to anybody who wants to learn more about video and coaching. https://ow.ly/z7MU50UfnJ6 –Jim
