In Ellesmere Port, UK, 7 of our team members became jolly Santas and busy elves at a local Santa’s Grotto, raising vital funds for a nearby hospice. In St. Mihiel, France, 2 employees stepped up to collect food at a local supermarket, ensuring families in need receive support this winter. In November, we welcomed A-Level chemistry students from Ellesmere Port Catholic High School for an engaging visit to explore our apprenticeship opportunities. This hands-on experience allowed the students to step beyond the classroom and delve into the real world of the chemical industry. They witnessed our advanced equipment in action and learned about the innovative processes that go into creating our products and how they are helping to reduce the environmental impact. More than just a field trip, this visit opened their eyes to future career opportunities that contribute to a sustainable future. We’re excited to share the success of our annual Innospec Fuel Specialties and Innospec Oilfield Services golf tournaments in aid of the The PenFed Foundation’s Military Heroes program. This helps to fund high impact grants that celebrate the leadership and selfless service of military members and supports their transition from service to civilian life. The two events raised a total of $225,000, bringing the total amount Innospec has fundraised to over $2.3 million since 2006. At our Ellesmere Port site, we’re proud to be working with the Cheshire Wildlife Trust to enhance local biodiversity by creating our very own wildflower meadow. This project will support various plant and animal species, promote pollination, and help store carbon. Our initial assessments have already identified 40 plant species, and we see huge potential for increased biodiversity through the introduction of native seed. After a naming competition involving all Ellesmere Port employees, it was decided that the area would be a 'Remembrance Meadow' to commemorate those who have passed away whilst working for Innospec. Meanwhile, in Castiglione, our team has been supporting the Association TSDC – Valle Farmhouse project by funding the planting of hedges and fruit trees to support the local bee population. They have also installed beehives to further enhance pollination efforts. We are proud of our role in supporting our local ecosystems. We are proud to announce Innospec Fuel Specialties’ brand-new partnership with UNESCO International Institute for Higher Education in Latin America and the Caribbean (IESALC). Vali Jerome, President of Fuel Specialties business, attended the official signing ceremony with Fransesc Pedró, Director of UNESCO IESALC, held on the 20th September, ahead of the United Nations Summit of the Future in New York. The partnership aims to establish a capacity building program within the Latin America region. It will integrate intercultural knowledges into the transformation of STEM teaching and learning, research, and industry engagement to promote sustainable development.
