CODA accurately measures very thin metallic components down to 0.2 mm using normal beam shear waves (0.4 mm with longitudinal waves) with an accuracy of ±2.5 µm (0.0001"). This video demonstrates how to perform the Frequency Resonance technique with CODA and highlights how easy it is to set up by simply changing the measuring algorithm for thicknesses below 1 mm. EMAT Technique induces the ultrasonic wave in the part. It does not require contact or couplant and is unaffected by the probe angle. Piezoelectric transducers require very high-frequency transducers, which are difficult to deploy and produce inconsistent results.
