"The California Privacy Protection Agency's proposed automated decision-making technology regulations aim to increase transparency around when and where automated decisions are employed while allowing consumers to exercise their rights. "Stakeholders have a role to play in shaping the final rules, as industry, civil society and others will have until 14 Jan. 2025 to submit comments to the formal rulemaking process." What an event! That’s a wrap on #ANZ24. A big focus on Privacy Act reform, indigenous data sovereignty, biometric protections, but my biggest takeaway… our ANZ colleagues love the chance to catch up, reconnect, and meet new people. The conversations continued late into the night and well after sessions wrapped. So fun, so welcoming, so people centric! IAPP ANZ Managing Director Adam Ford’s presence is felt everywhere as the ANZ community grows. Huge shout out to my tireless colleagues Jilly M. Corrine Potter & Marjorie Boyer for a fantastic event.

New #LinkedInLive on the way! Attend "After the US election: What’s next for privacy, AI governance and cybersecurity law?" on Tuesday, 3 December. IAPP's Cobun Zweifel-Keegan, J.D., CIPP/US, CIPM moderates this discussion with Maneesha Mithal (Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati), Brandon Pugh (R Street Institute) and Alexandra Seymour (U.S. House Homeland Security Committee). The panel will unpack the priorities of the incoming Trump administration and Republican leadership in the House and Senate, focusing on the most likely legislative, regulatory and executive actions in 2025. From reconceiving the AI executive order to changing the leadership at federal agencies to pursuing new legislative priorities, there is plenty to discuss and no better guides than our guests for this conversation. Watch "How to become a speaker at IAPP AI Governance Global EU 2025" now if you missed it! https://lnkd.in/eAadgNZa And submit your panel here: https://lnkd.in/eFxgykYp
The recording of our #AIGG25 Europe info session is available. My top line advice on three things that delegates want to hear about: 🎯 Purpose and context: AI deployment and use does not mean the same to everyone => share your expertise in navigating #AI #riskmanagement and best calibrating your response, with industry use cases. 💸 Do more with less: digital risk management only grows and budget lines flatten => help others leverage what they already have in place for [privacy, cyber, regulatory] #compliance to meet new goals. 🧘 Untangling: in short, there is a lot happening – laws, policies, technologies etc. all evolve at a rapid pace => make it practical and actionable, with concrete take-aways. More tips and advice here: https://lnkd.in/erbx9sC3 🏃➡️ Ready to submit a panel proposal? Don't wait!
