Huenited is so proud of the team that the led the efforts to put together a scholarship program that awarded $14,000 in scholarship funds to 10 local students including, Autumn Fletcher, who are focusing their studies in areas such as design, project management and creative writing. The time and commitment from our members, partner organizations and community, is helping to make strides in our desire to increase diversity within the marketing and branding industry. Spectrum News did a wonderful job capturing the achievement!
We’re excited to share that Spectrum News 1 has spotlighted #AACSTUDENT Autumn Fletcher, who was awarded a $14,000 Inclusive Artists Scholarship from the Huenited Collective. A special thank you to Tysonn Betts and Sean Rugless, the founding partners of Huenited Collective, for their invaluable support.

We were thrilled to host an event this weekend to celebrate our ten Huenited scholarship award recipients, their families, friends and university professors! Each student was awarded a $14k scholarship, based upon their creative talents, scholarly achievements, personal essays and reference letters from their respective universities. The percentage of underrepresented minority talent in our industry is astounding and through supporting initiatives such as this scholarship program, Huenited is helping to connect talented individuals with the opportunities they outright deserve. Special thanks to our member organizations Procter & Gamble, The Katalyst Group, Hyperquake, Grey Midwest, Madison Design, Olberding Brand Family, pep, LLC., COHO Creative, Deskey Branding, Landor and Fitch, and goDutch for the continued financial support, time commitments, and knowledge and expertise. Congratulations to each of our recipients and the universities that they each represent. Northern Kentucky University, Xavier University, Art Academy of Cincinnati, University of Cincinnati and Central State University! Our Huenited team isn't going at these challenges alone-- it is great to know that other industry leaders and professionals are working to improve diverse representation in the creative industry, as well. Check out Project Osmosis!

How can we amplify opportunities for young black designers? I now believe that K-12 is the most important place for #DesignEducation. The kind Project Osmosis has been doing for 25 years (!) Along with Nigel Prentice Shani Sandy Jessica Tremblay we've seen the power of #DesignMentoring. Are you aware of any other K-12 Design programs? We're working on our virtual design center and would love to collaborate! Vernon Lockhart Shirley Justice, MM Cyaira Adams
