Last week's GSA- Global Sourcing Association Summit was one for the books. I heard from Alistair Niederer, Michelle Sally, Terry Walby on AI as it relates to supplier inclusion and Gary Salterpicco gave an impassioned talk on the nested triple bottom line as well as the 'mindset harmony loop'. Always great to represent WEConnect International Europe on a supplier diversity panel with Maggie Berry OBE , Scott Johnson, Reshma Sheikh as well as FARIDA GIBBS giving us the perspective of a diverse supplier. For corporates, impactful sourcing is becoming increasingly important and should be top of the agenda when considering ESG, CSR and sustainability ambitions. All we want, is for the members we represent to be given a chance by corporates - and we're here to help you access these brilliant businesses, as well as sharing with your internal stakeholders the business value from buying from diverse owned businesses. Thank you to Kerry Hallard for the opportunity and the wider GSA team for a informative day and great to see Peter Zerp, 🦚 Jason Roberts, Angus Scott, Dr Yvonne Thompson, Edina Da’Silva, Justin Lambert, Barry Schimper. #WEConnectInternational #SupplierDiversity #Impact #SupplierInclusion

I enjoyed participating in last week’s GSA- Global Sourcing Association Sustainable Strategic Sourcing Summit and representing OutBritain for the supplier diversity masterclass. It was great to hear from the likes of Peter Zerp, Edina D. and 🦚 Jason Roberts and to share the stage with Reshma Sheikh, Jaxx Nelson, Scott Johnson and FARIDA GIBBS. Between us we have been championing the inclusive sourcing agenda for many years and are keen to see more corporates actively including diverse owned businesses in their procurement processes - it’s all about opening up access to opportunities. We discussed the definition of diverse owned suppliers, the importance of certification and the vital role advocacy groups play in creating connections. A big thank you to Kerry Hallard and the GSA team for hosting the event and including a focus on supplier diversity which we see as a key component of ESG activity going forwards. Great to see you Justin Lambert, Dr Yvonne Thompson CBE DL FCL, RSA, RA, SGCW,KCL NED and Komal Jethva (She, Her, Hers)! #SupplierDiversity #InclusiveSourcing

I recently had the honor of delivering the closing keynote at the GSA- Global Sourcing Association Sustainable Strategic Sourcing Summit in London on the topic, “Global Imperatives in the Outsourcing Industry.” Congratulations to the GSA team, led by CEO Kerry Hallard, for organizing such an impactful event. My appreciation goes also to all the speakers who shared valuable insights on critical topics, including supplier diversity, agile sourcing, the transformative role of AI in the supply chain, the growing importance of ESG and sustainability in sourcing, and fostering a “sustainability mindset,” among others. In my keynote, I highlighted the pressing need for our industry to adapt to shifting global megatrends—ESG regulations, technological advancements, and evolving expectations of value creation. With the outsourcing industry projected to reach $525 billion by 2030, we have an unparalleled opportunity to drive innovation and deliver measurable, positive impacts. Heartfelt thanks to the industry leaders and attendees championing these essential changes. At ADEC Innovations, we believe that, together, we can reshape outsourcing to achieve not only economic goals but also address critical global challenges, such as closing the SDG financing gap and enhancing supply chain transparency. Let’s continue the conversation and collaboration to make sustainability an integral part of “Business as Usual.” #GSAsummit2024

The Human in the Loop | Procurement Transformation Leader | Driving Digital & Sustainable Procurement | Champion of ESG & Supplier Diversity
Recently I have been writing articles about the transformational opportunities of technology and Ai. While I’m a strong advocate for the implementation of these technological solutions, I firmly believe that they are not a silver bullet to solve every challenge we face today. At the GSA- Global Sourcing Association Sustainable Strategic Sourcing Summit, I spoke about the need to foster a sustainable mindset. The conversations that followed have inspired me to launch a new series of articles that discuss "Building a Sustainable Mindset" and delving more deeply into the "Harmony Loop". This series of articles will explore how we can achieve a dynamic balance in our systems—be it in sourcing, procurement, or broader organisational leadership. Much like an ecosystem, a sustainable mindset requires harmony between competing needs, fostering resilience and long-term success.

When people with a shared purpose unite, their collective strength and determination can turn even the most ambitious goals into transformative realities. Attending yesterday’s Sustainable Strategic Sourcing Summit, hosted by the GSA- Global Sourcing Association was a powerful reminder that a rising tide lift all ships. Wonderful to hear the Supplier Diversity Advocacy groups their share views and experiences in a thought provoking panel discussion, and feel the impact made from other guest speakers - with a special shoutout to Edina Da’Silva Assoc CIPD whose talk on neurodiversity roused awarenesses and provoked reflection from all in attendance. My thanks to Kerry Hallard for the opportunity to speak on the potential impact US Supreme Court rulings on affirmative action could have on UK supplier diversity programmes. And Shivani Kaura for your wonderful organising of a highly successful event. Thank you. Reshma Sheikh Jaxx Nelson Scott Johnson Maggie Berry OBE FARIDA GIBBS
