✨ Grow, and lead change for all of food and ag. We can learn from Edenesque, which is changing the future of what food and ag can contribute to New York, the Northeast, and the world. Leslie Woodward always wanted to serve a higher purpose and found the means to do it through food and through her plant-based milk company. Although they did not walk away with prize money from Grow-NY, they are making an impact on the region and on the larger food landscape. Edenesque lives its values through actionable measures which includes hiring individuals with disabilities and justice-impacted team members, and sourcing ingredients from local, sustainable farmers. The company also partners with organizations across New York to battle food insecurity in areas of need. Not a winner? Perhaps not in prize money, but certainly in every other way. Learn more about Leslie’s story by watching our Year 6 video at https://lnkd.in/gsAPkyRy.

🚀 Grow, and lead change in the ecosystem. Craft Cannery changed the ecosystem by adding its technology, processes, team, and partners to the impressive commerce and culture that already inhabit the region. When owner Paul Guglielmo visited Grow-NY in year 2 as an exhibitor, he was struck by how many finalists spoke of their struggle to find manufacturing and affordable, no-minimum production, both of which could transform their companies. The next year, Craft Cannery offered exactly that to the Grow-NY judges and to countless other startups looking to make the Grow-NY region their base of operation and expansion. As a result, Craft Cannery changed not only its own company, but also the entire ecosystem for startups hungry for the manufacturing they needed to change their own fortunes. 🌱 Grow, and lead change in your company. Year 3 #GrowNY winner Ascribe Bioscience changed its company by tapping into the innovation advanced by the region’s universities, incubators, and accelerators. Its product acts like a vaccine for plants, priming their defense systems to respond more quickly to pathogens and ward off infection. Ascribe’s $500K award from the competition allowed them to conduct field trials and scale up production to be able to treat up to 5 million acres—dramatically changing the trajectory of their organization and how farmers maximize productivity.
