🌱🏃 Running Towards a Sustainable Future! Congratulations to Lindfield Public School, winners of the 2024 Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) Sydney Marathon goIT Challenge! 🎉 Their innovative creation, the “Cleanofier”—a solar-powered AI robotic vacuum designed to sort and categorise waste at events—earned them a $10,000 prize and tickets to the 2024 TCS Sydney Mini Marathon presented by ASICS. In partnership with the NSW Department of Education, TCS challenged students aged 6-17 to use STEM and design thinking to develop real-world solutions for sustainability in sports. Initiatives like goIT empower young minds to envision a greener future, bridging technology and innovation to inspire change. 🌟 From energy-harvesting pavements to AI-powered robotics, the next generation is shaping the future of sustainable marathons. Together, we’re making strides toward a cleaner, more innovative tomorrow. #SportsBiz #SustainableSport #ClimateAction #GreenSports https://lnkd.in/eRjgSzpN

🎶 Birds of a feather, save the planet together 🎶 So grateful for the opportunity last month to design and lead Black Girl Environmentalist Chicago’s “Take Care, Give Care” initiative at the REVERB Billie Eilish Eco-Action Village! Our Tabling Mission: To foster community connection and raise awareness about the mental health impacts of the climate crisis on youth. Our Activation: We invited attendees to write a letter of encouragement to a stranger on their climate journey—and receive one in exchange. Our Impact: Over 50 people participated, sharing heartfelt words of encouragement and inspiration with fellow Billie fans as they navigate their own climate journeys. Why This Matters: A global survey of 10,000 youth ages 16–25 revealed: 🌍 59% are very or extremely worried about the climate crisis. 🌍 45% say climate anxiety negatively impacts their daily lives and ability to function. (resource: “as climate changes, climate anxiety rises in youth” CBS News) While systemic changes like affordable therapy, climate education K-12, and stronger support infrastructures are essential-community connection is a powerful way to boost morale, reduce isolation, and destigmatize mental health struggles during challenging times. A Reminder: Take a moment to share a kind word with a stranger. Any small gesture can make a big difference—you never know what someone might be going through 🤍🌍 that’s the power of climate connection. Special Thanks: A huge shoutout to BGE Chicago Volunteer Maranda Stinson and the amazing Reverb team Christine Meisenhelter , Rachel Torrico & Paige Roth for their amazing energy and support. Let’s continue to build together!
