Thanks to Ohio’s motion picture tax credit expansion, Playhouse Square is set to host the North American tour launch of Hell’s Kitchen, a Broadway musical inspired by Alicia Keys' music, lyrics, and life. This marks the third tour opening made possible by Ohio’s tax credits for theatrical productions, which continue to attract world-class performances to the region. ICYMI: Cuyahoga County is set to benefit from nearly $19 million in state brownfield remediation grants, part of over $58 million awarded statewide by Gov. Mike DeWine. The largest projects include: ➡️ Woodhill Homes: $10M for environmental remediation to build 370 housing units. ➡️ East Bank Flats: $1.13M+ for environmental remediation to enable 100 apartments + retail development. ➡️ Lakewood Detroit Apartments: $2M+ for site cleanup to create 190 residential units + commercial space. 🚨 Breaking News: Cleveland is a finalist among three cities vying for a National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL) expansion team, with the league planning to grow from 12 to 16 teams by 2026. The Cleveland Soccer Group has plans to build a new $150M stadium across from Progressive Field, which would seat over 12,000 fans if Cleveland wins the expansion team. If approved, this would be Ohio’s first stadium dedicated to professional women’s sports—a historic milestone for the region. The NWSL is expected to announce its decision by the end of this year.
