  • This holiday season, we had the privilege of witnessing an extraordinary act of love and support from the community of Athens Church. 🌟 A truly inspiring family in Kansas City, KS — a devoted Great Aunt and Grandpa who have been pillars of strength and care for their young niece and nephew. Despite the challenges of the past year, they've consistently prioritized the children’s well-being, even changing jobs and taking trauma-informed classes to better support their needs. Though they never asked for help, this Christmas, their community stepped in to surround them with love. Thanks to Athens Church and the power of Care-Sharing, they were able to receive holiday gifts — a small but meaningful way to say, “We see you, and we appreciate all you do.” 🎁 From “World’s Greatest” mugs and t-shirts to gift cards, these gifts of gratitude were a reminder that their hard work and sacrifice have not gone unnoticed. We are so grateful for the members of Athens Church who made this possible. 🧡 Through your generosity and compassion, families like this one are feeling the love and support they truly deserve this holiday season. T ogether, we are making a difference! https://lnkd.in/g39KMCaj - #CarePortal #FamiliesRestored #HolidayGiving #SupportAndLove #ThankYou

When I moved back to Kansas City in 2006 as a single mother of four under the age of 11, I often survived through the generosity of others. My church family in California helped us move. My daycare charged me far less than they should have. My babysitter watched all my kids once a week for a mere $20 so I could catch my breath. Extended family filled my freezer with their hunting game to keep us fed, and a coworker gave me money out of the blue—right when I needed it most. Because of many kindnesses like these, my children never went without. Now my kids are grown, and I’ve had the chance to grow in my career as well. I’m grateful to have come full circle, able to use my career training to give back and now help others in a more impactful way. I’m thrilled to announce my new role as Vice President of Operations with CarePortal — an organization I deeply respect. This isn’t just a job for me; it’s a chance to work behind the scenes to bridge the gap between needs and resources, ensuring no child or family falls through the cracks. I’m looking forward to working with this amazing team, building solutions that make a difference, and doing my part to serve children and families well. • When a CarePortal request turns into more than just a delivery 🥹 >>> This is our hope and prayer with every CarePortal request, that the interaction between the neighbors being served and neighbors responding would lead to a meaningful connection, a new friendship, and even a life long bond. Joanna is a CarePortal Church Responder at BrownCroft Community Church in Rochester, New York. She responded to this CarePortal request for a booster seat, but ended up brining more than just that, she connected with her neighbors down the street, had meaningful conversations, and got to pray over them. She was able to bring them hope and a new friendship. Head to our blog to check out the full video. 🧡 CarePortal connects those in need with those who want to help, creating powerful, meaningful connections that drive real change in local communities. Whether you’re an individual, church, or organization, you can be part of a movement that ensures no child is ever left behind. - https://lnkd.in/eyzbGymV

  • This month, we celebrate the efforts of our community in supporting adoptive placements! 💙 Recently, a single mother with two sons was seeking clothing and winter items for her children as they recently moved into an apartment after experiencing homelessness. Thanks to the quick and compassionate responses from Mountain Springs Church they were able to support this family. Every step in this process matters greatly. Every action strengthens the care surrounding vulnerable families. Together, we’re turning compassion into action and ensuring every child has the opportunity to thrive.
