🌍 We’re thrilled to be in Australia for the 2024 Youth, Technology, and Virtual Communities Conference (YTVC) hosted by Argos, Queensland Police Service at Bond University. This year’s conference theme, ‘Technology: Threats and Opportunities,’ focuses on technology-facilitated crimes against children, online child exploitation, the impacts of social media, and the role of technology in safeguarding children from harm. We kicked off #Day1 with some truly insightful sessions, particularly enjoying: 🎙 Jennifer Newman from the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) on Child sexual exploitation trends, issues & priorities in 2024 🎙 Kristin Boorse and Melissa Stroebel from Thorn, discussing the complexities of artificial intelligence in this space. Tomorrow, David Ranner from CameraForensics will be in #Theatre4. He’ll delve into emerging AI techniques, demonstrate their application in image and video investigations, and address the challenges posed by Generative AI. Real-world case studies will showcase how these tools and techniques have been successfully applied in the field. We’re looking forward to more insightful discussions, networking with industry leaders, and discovering new ways to drive positive change globally. If you’re here, let’s connect! 👋 #YTVCConference #TechnologyForGood #ChildProtection #OnlineSafety #GenerativeAI #AI #DigitalSafety #YouthEmpowerment #CyberSecurity

🛑 World Day Against Trafficking in Persons 2024 🛑 Today, as we observe UN #WorldDayAgainstTraffickinginPersons, we spotlight the most vulnerable among us - children. This year's theme, Leave No Child Behind in the Fight Against Human Trafficking, urges us to take decisive action to protect every child from exploitation. The statistics are staggering: 🔹1 in 3 victims of human trafficking globally is a child. 🔹27% of victims of sexual exploitation are girls. 🔹The average age of detected child victims is just 14-15 years old. These figures, drawn from the UNODC's Global Trafficking in Persons Report 2022, remind us of the urgent need for far-reaching measures to combat this crisis. At Global Emancipation Network (GEN), we are committed to ensuring no child is left behind. Our dedicated team works tirelessly to: ✅ Eradicate human trafficking and child exploitation. ✅ Leverage cutting-edge technology to help tackle this crime. ✅ Collaborate with organizations around the world. We believe in a world free from human trafficking and child exploitation, where all lives have equal value. But we can't do it alone. We need your support to amplify our efforts and make a tangible difference. Join us in this critical mission. Together, we can #LeaveNoChildBehind and put an end to human trafficking once and for all. 🤝 Share this post 🤝 Donate now: https://bit.ly/DonateGEN 🤝 Volunteer with us: https://lnkd.in/ecSk_fNw #WorldDayAgainstTraffickinginPersons2024 #EndHumanTrafficking #ProtectOurChildren #GlobalEmancipationNetwork #UNODC #ActNow
