What an incredible adventure we had in Chicago, thanks to the amazing team at Pella! We were honored to be invited to tour Pella’s showroom, where we got an up-close look at their innovative products. The highlight? An educational seminar diving deep into the fascinating techniques and strategies they used to restore the historic windows at Harlem Public School 186—a true masterclass in craftsmanship and preservation! But the trip didn’t stop there! We soaked in the architectural beauty of Chicago with a breathtaking boat tour, conquered the Sky Deck at Willis Tower for unforgettable views, and experienced the iconic Cloud Gate (aka "The Bean")! And as art lovers, visiting The Art Institute of Chicago was the cherry on top. We had an amazing time with students at Code RVA Regional High School as part of the ACE Mentor Program, which partners with the CIRT National Design Competition! This year’s challenge inspires students to design a carbon-capturing building, transportation hub, or school. G&H's own Kalee Hartman and Bill Atkinson gave a presentation on building programming and hosted an interactive activity, watching these future architects, engineers, and builders unleash their creativity.
