Glaser Weil proudly represented the former owner of the Baha Mar Resort, BML Properties Ltd., in a significant fraud and breach of contract case against China Construction America, Inc. (CCA) and affiliated co-defendants. Our team, led by Peter Sheridan, alongside co-counsel Nick Lewin of Morrison Cohen, initiated the case in 2017, seeking over $1 billion in damages due to alleged deceptions by CCA, the construction manager and general contractor of the $3.5 billion Baha Mar project in Nassau, Bahamas. Over the course of nearly three years, Glaser Weil successfully prosecuted the case through multiple rounds of motions and appeals, laying the groundwork for Susman Godfrey LLP to try the case in August 2024. Glaser Weil has once again secured a significant victory for Aqua Connect, Inc. in its patent infringement dispute against TeamViewer US and TeamViewer Germany. After our Intellectual Property team’s trial win in August 2022, where we secured a $5.7 million jury award, TeamViewer sought to challenge Aqua Connect's patents in reexaminations with the USPTO. On October 10 and 15, 2024, we prevailed again, with both patents confirmed as valid.
