Last December for the first time, G&W entered all frontline employees in good standing into a drawing to win two pickup trucks - one for each region. Continuing that recognition into 2024, a new slate of two winners was announced this week. Congratulations to Derrick Beatty, Mechanic at Ohio Central Railroad (OHCR), and Mike Grabher, Track Machine Operator at Rapid City, Pierre & Eastern Railroad (RCPE)! A sincere thank you to all employees who qualified for the drawing by living out our Core Value of Safety! Photo Captions: Derrick Beatty (third from left) is congratulated by National Region Senior Vice President Brad Ovitt, Great Lakes Division Vice President Dan Pavick and Ohio Central Railroad General Manger Tim Slusser. Yesterday afternoon, G&W celebrated the launch of Red Deer Railway (RDR) in Alberta, Canada, our first railroad in western Canada! “With Red Deer Railway, shippers in the booming Alberta Industrial Heartland can now rely on the safe and efficient first- and last-mile service that G&W’s railroads in Newfoundland and Labrador, Nova Scotia, Ontario and Quebec have earned a reputation for,” said Rick McLellan, president of G&W’s Canada operations. “RDR can tailor our service package and operations plans based on the individual needs of area businesses along our 43-mile route. Whether it’s finding the best rail-served location for a business or reaching new or additional markets with our access to the North American network, our team is excited to get to work.” Read more about Red Deer Railway here: https://lnkd.in/e6C_-3Mr Genesee & Wyoming Canada Inc

Our 125th anniversary year may be coming to a close, but not without one more celebration! Last week, our team in Jacksonville gathered to mark this milestone and look to the future. We were honored that Joe Hinrichs, CEO of our Class I partner, CSX, and Bruce Nickle, Director of Global Supply Chain and Logistics for our Arizona Eastern Railway customer, Freeport-McMoRan, were able to join us for the event. Here's a highlight video of the day...

We are proud to announce the addition of three new railroads to our Shortline Select program. In addition to our service’s inaugural service partner, Genesee & Wyoming’s Alabama & Gulf Coast Railway (AGR), BNSF is now in partnership with Burlington Junction Railway (BJRY), Genesee & Wyoming’s Portland & Western Railway (PNWR), and TNW Corporation’s Texas Northwestern Railroad (TXNW). Shortline Select, which launched in September, allows shortline railroads to share BNSF’s enduring commitment to growth and service by providing expanded opportunities for customers to reach an even broader consumer base. The program combines the benefit of shortline customized service with BNSF’s vast network reach. We look forward to working with these shortlines to enhance our service performance together!
