We need creative approaches to tackle the climate crisis. The Los Angeles Times has the scoop on climate comedy and features our work leveraging humor to inspire climate action. "We need comedy to help us cope, and to remind us there are viable solutions at our fingertips. Solar panels, wind turbines, electric cars, heat pumps, induction stoves — we’ve got most of the tools we need to stop burning fossil fuels. There’s a growing cadre of comics learning to talk climate — and taking their acts across the country. Esteban Gast is on the vanguard of this movement. He’s comedian-in-residence at Generation180." https://hubs.ly/Q02xnVkk0 #comedy #climateaction

Solar panels and electric buses can boost school budgets while cutting emissions. Here’s how Steelton-Highspire School District put both to use. “Most school districts are still skeptical this is a purely economic decision,” said Tish Tablan, program director at Generation180. But “in the last two years, 800 schools added solar arrays. These decisions have an economic benefit, otherwise they wouldn’t be happening.” https://hubs.ly/Q0309Hg40 Canary Media Inc.

US solar installations hit a record high in 2024, but they could drop in 2025. While it's unfortunate that installations might decrease next year, it's still a bit tentative. The great news is that we hit record highs this year, and with all the negative climate news going around, it’s definitely worth celebrating the wins! https://hubs.ly/Q02_r-lW0

Lynchburg City Schools where awarded $10.5 million for 25 electric school buses and EV chargers! LCPS Transportation Director Hope Watts shares that “the abundance of funding is what made this possible.” LCPS received nearly $10 million from the U.S. EPA’s Clean School Bus Program, $500,000 in federal grants for charging infrastructure, and up $1 million from the IRS in federal tax credits. By switching from diesel to electric school buses, the district will save $150,000 per year in fuel costs and more in avoided maintenance costs https://hubs.ly/Q02_rmjq0

Thanks to EPA funding, electric school buses are coming soon to 49 states — delivering rides to school without toxic tailpipe emissions, and saving school districts money on maintenance and fueling. #CleanRide4Kids #RouteZero

Google is working to build data centers right next to clean energy farms—these farms have solar, wind, and batteries all in one spot. The hope? Fulfilling the significant power needs of big tech with renewable energy while easing pressure on the grid. Hopefully, these renewable projects will address the power needs of the tech world while being better for the planet. https://hubs.ly/Q02_r43J0
