  • Transform Your Lab with a 5-Layer Automation Stack 🚀 Our article with Astrix highlights how labs can boost efficiency, consistency, and data integrity with a streamlined 5-layer automation stack. This approach accelerates discovery, enhances FAIR (Findable, Accessible, Interoperable, Reusable) data compliance, and fosters collaboration. Here’s a snapshot of the stack: 🔹 Systems of Record – Centralized platforms (LIMS, ELNs) for data storage and access. 🔹 Design of Experiment (DoE) Systems – Tools to plan and standardize experiments. 🔹 Physical Automation – Robotics and Laboratory Execution Systems (LES) for workflow automation. 🔹 Data Automation – Platforms (like Ganymede) to automate data capture, cleaning, and storage. 🔹 Integration – Unified access by feeding organized data back into Systems of Record. Discover how this approach can transform your lab. Read the full article with Astrix here: https://lnkd.in/gJ39qiiS #LabAutomation #FAIRData #DataIntegrity #ScientificDiscovery #Innovation #DataAutomation

A subtle aspect of Data Products is that, like any product, they stem from discovering a user need. In practice this means bottoms-up identifying a scientific or operational need that scientists or the business has, and getting the data lined up to solve it. This is the opposite of a lot of AI hype about collecting all the data and then deriving top-down insights from it! Large-scale data lake initiatives in the 2010s often fell short when they just collected data in a centralized way without a clear set of use cases in mind. Then you have a "data swamp" that no one uses, and the scientists at the bench don't experience benefit, so aren't excited to go further and support your digital transformation organizationally. And so you lose momentum. I love this article because it shows the maturation of biopharma in the 2020s towards where other industries have gone in the data domain: start small, be agile, deliver bottoms-up wins to small teams. Grand strategies easily fail, and while AI and data science applications can be powerful tools, they are just tools, and you need to know why you want to use them; otherwise AI is just a new stand-in for underdefined hopes of being able to get value from collecting a lot of stuff centrally. The same lessons learned in the 90s about software architecture now apply to data infrastructure. And this means automating your assays and ELN/LIMS data entry, doing the messy business analysis that isn't fun as a grand strategy. But more and more, we see biopharmas recognizing this; and through business automation, they deliver value faster and then end up with a richer and more durable dataset within their central infra.

Delivering well-managed data products is challenging. With terms like data mesh, data fabric and data contracts, it’s easy to get lost.      Transitioning to data products requires an evolutionary approach. So, what should you prioritize first? How do you plan to deliver well-managed data products within the pharmaceutical industry?      Read our article to discover what a cross-industry group of practitioners discovered when considering these challenges.    #data #dataproducts #datamanagement
