  • On the morning of December 20, 2024 the Astronomy Society of FSA (ASFSA)launched one of their experimental high altitude weather balloons! This was an event open to the entire school to come and watch, and students and teachers alike watched with amazement as the high altitude balloon (HAB) soared. The team made their first weather balloon launch on August 12, 2022 with the KORUCU-22. The KORUCU-22 was the first of a series of HAB releases by the ASFSA, and was presented as a memorial to honor FSA's late School Board President, Mr. Ayhan Korucu. We are so proud of this team of students and their advisor, Mr. Ramin Adams on the advancements they have made in their projects and the continued learning that continues to take place in light of these projects. These students have been diligently working to make improvements to this project in order to be able to soar higher and gather more data from our atmosphere and near-space.

  • 🇹🇷 FSA Turkish Class Welcomes a Guest Performer 🎵 Mr. Akel's class had the pleasure of welcoming Yasin Dağaşan, a former physics teacher and talented artist specializing in Turkish traditional music, to our classroom. He shared the rich history and beauty of Turkish music through an engaging performance, playing several traditional songs. Our students were captivated by his musical talent and the stories behind the instruments. They even had the exciting opportunity to try playing some of the instruments themselves, making it a truly unforgettable cultural experience. We are grateful to Mr. Dağaşan for sharing his passion and knowledge, inspiring our students through the universal language of music.

  • ➗ AP Calculus AB in Action! ✖️ Last week, our AP Calc AB students tackled multiple-choice questions through a collaborative stations activity. Rotating in groups, they worked together to solve challenging problems, strategize, and share insights in preparation for the multiple-choice section of their final exam. This dynamic, hands-on approach fostered teamwork, critical thinking, and a deeper understanding of calculus concepts.
