Our final project feature of 2024 introduces a team examining "the micromobility mindset". The group are aiming to study perceptions towards new forms of mobility, specifically shared bike and e-bike schemes in the UK to understand how to better implement these in future. Our third project feature examines the potential for Artificial Intelligence (AI) to encourage more sustainable travel behaviours at London Luton Airport. Based on detailed conversations and insights from airport staff, the team hope to create a series of targeted behavioural nudges that encourage staff to switch to more sustainable modes of transport. Our second project feature takes us to the UK countryside, and efforts by Team COLLABORATIV (Collaboration Of Landowners and Local Authorities in the Building Of Rural Active Travel Infrastructure) to simplify approaches to delivering active travel infrastructure in a rural context. The team have been out and about in the Mendips to look a some good practice examples, as well as interviewing local planning officers, landowners and cycling groups to help refine their findings. We're pleased to present the first of our project feature articles from this year's initiative. A joint UK-Uganda team is exploring ways to delivery universal battery charging for electric motorcycles, understanding where efficiencies can be made in both countries with their differing levels of motorcycle uptake and battery technologies. https://lnkd.in/d_SpJGuy Chris Byaruhanga, PhD, Dilum Dissanayake #uganda #emotorcycles #electricmobility #futuremobility #transportresearch

All committee members are looking forward to hosting and running our Future Transport Visions Group collaboration workshops this week to hear some of the 30 different project ideas that have been entered into this year's initiative. The workshops have been organised around our six research themes, led by our dynamic team of committee members. If you're also interested in listening in, you can find links to join each workshop below - who knows, you may even join a project team. (Note you cannot now submit a new idea, but you can join a team on their collaborations) https://lnkd.in/dUw3MQfw
