✏️ 🛠️ Designed and manufactured in Florida by FLYMOTION, Ridgeback is a cutting-edge payload specifically engineered for seamless integration with Spot robots. It connects directly to Spot via one of the two DB25 payload ports located on the robot's back, enhancing its functionality in a variety of ways. Current capabilities: - Secure and reliable connectivity - Extended Range - Direct communication with all other assets on the Mesh Network Ridgeback 1.0 has been instrumental in helping Spot achieve peak efficacy in public safety and defense applications. Ever since Ridgeback was first released in 2021, FLYMOTION's R&D team has been hard at work to make it even better. Their work has opened a whole new set of capabilities for Spot that are not achievable without Ridgeback. Stay tuned over the next few weeks: the next generation of Spot payload capabilities is about to arrive ❗️

The Tactical Bubble, or #TacBubble, is a concept that involves air, land, and sea robotic teams, as well as many other assets, such as helicopters and patrol vehicles (think: drones in the air, Spot entering a building, and a mobile command center or #MCC in the background). In a Tac Bubble, all of these different pieces seamlessly connect with one another, pushing constant, uninterrupted communications and data to the human operator for a revolutionary level of situational awareness during any operation. Tac Bubbles are scalable, self-healing mesh networks made possible by MANET devices, or nodes, across a given environment. Want to start building your organization's Tac Bubble? Have you ever wondered how Spot, the Boston Dynamics quadruped robot, sees? 👀 Answer: IR lights! 💡 In fact, in the dark or in the light, it's through IR light that Spot can assess its surroundings and figure out where it's going... Spot-vision isn't exactly what we're used to seeing with our own eyes, but we think it's pretty cool. IR lights are just one of the many sensors Spot is equipped with: to learn more about Spot, book a demo, or add Spot to your team, reach out to FLYMOTION today!

The Blue UAS effort, started in 2020, is a holistic and continuous approach that rapidly vets and scales commercial unmanned aerial system (UAS) technology for the Department of Defense (DoD). This program consists of two lines of effort that curate, maintain, and improve a robust roster of policy-approved commercial UAS to meet the diverse needs of DoD users. Policy-compliant commercial UAS, once vetted by the Blue UAS On-Ramp effort, do not require an Exception to Policy (ETP), reducing the administrative burden on end users. FLYMOTION is proud to offer several Blue UAS-cleared drones to help streamline the acquisition process for our DoD clients. If you're interested in learning more about Blue UAS-compliant drones or what FLYMOTION can do for you, reach out to our team!

❓ We talk about it all the time, but what actually is a mesh network? ✔️ Essentially, a mesh network is a network of nodes, or devices, that can connect to other nodes within range. At FLYMOTION, we call this a Tactical Bubble: using multiple radio devices, we can create a web of interconnected nodes that is self-healing. This means that a mesh network dynamically works to find the best connectivity route, automatically adjusting for nodes that are out of range, not working, or encountering obstacles. Basically, any radio that sees another radio will automatically connect to it so that you have a reliable source of data transmission even in austere or congested environments. The #TacBubble encompasses devices on drones in the air, ground robotics, maritime technology, and radios carried by operators, ensuring seamless communication between all aspects of a human-robotic team. 📣 If you want to know more about mesh networks or begin building your own Tac Bubble, reach out to our team!

During #UTAC 2024, we had the opportunity to deploy the Spot robot by Boston Dynamics outfitted with a disruptor kit developed by ELP GmbH European Logistic Partners. This patented disruptor integration development, consisting of a variable disruptor mount, an innovative laser aiming device with radio ignition system, a chassis system box, and a robust transport and storage case, is ready for use in just a few minutes. Operators have full control at all times using a portable controller tablet and can precisely assess the threat situation: the disruptor kit shines in deployment scenarios where safety, mobility, autonomy and reliability are required. During this year's Extremist Compound scenario, Spot and this disruptor kit neutralized an IED to help resolve the situation peacefully.

As the public safety landscape continues to evolve, operations within this industry must remain agile and skilled enough to meet shifting demands. Drones and other robotic solutions offer unparalleled advantages in varied public safety operations, including overwatch, search and rescue, tactical operations, crime scene analysis, and more. However, while increased drone integration has already modernized and optimized many law enforcement organizations, continued proper training is the key to maximizing human-machine team operations. Want to schedule your own training? Reach out to our team! Learn more about the importance of drone training programs ⤵️ https://hubs.la/Q02ZKXng0
