“The Federal Law Enforcement Officers Association (FLEOA) applauds President Trump’s intention to nominate South Dakota Gov. Kristi Noem to be the next Secretary of Homeland Security. During her tenure in Congress, Noem sponsored legislation to address the scourge of human trafficking and enhance criminal penalties for unlawful flight to avoid prosecution. As Governor, Kristi Noem has been committed to supporting South Dakota’s law enforcement officers and enhancing public safety. We believe she will bring this commitment to Washington and be a steady hand in managing the various missions and responsibilities of DHS and its component agencies. We look forward to her swift confirmation.” -Mat Silverman, FLEOA National President The White House

“President Trump has been a fierce ally of federal, state, and local law enforcement. During his first Administration, the President worked with FLEOA on ways to reduce crime, increase public safety, uphold the rule of law, fight corruption, and strengthen the public trust. His commitment to these goals has never wavered, and we look forward to the renewal of this partnership once he is sworn in for a second term next month. Critical to the success of any Administration is a functioning Cabinet, and we therefore urge the Senate to begin as quickly as possible the confirmation process for President Trump’s Justice Department nominees, including Pam Bondi for Attorney General and the directors of component agencies. Ensuring that the Justice Department’s senior leadership team is in place as swiftly as possible is vital to maintaining the integrity and stability of our nation’s justice system.” -Mathew Silverman, FLEOA National President
