In our ever-evolving world of rapid paced technological advances, fraud and cybercrime have become prevalent. We read countless stories of scams perpetrated by criminals whose only objective is to profit from others – from you. From identity theft, to income tax refund fraud, tech support scams, and financial exploitation, fraudsters employ techniques designed to trick you. Trust your intuition. If you’re being pressured to make a quick decision, if the situation feels “off” or is unsettling, you will likely benefit in taking a break from the interaction. Take time to check things out before proceeding. Receiving unexpected emails or text messages containing attachments or hyperlinks to additional materials or internet sites should not be opened but instead deleted. Never click on a hyperlink received from an unknown person. Never give out sensitive personal information or grant remote access to your personal device. Tech Support scams rank at the top of all internet crimes reported. Though you might feel embarrassed or silly, reach out to a person you DO trust before sharing information and/or taking action. It has grown increasingly important to stay alert to threats that may pose a risk to you. Heightening your awareness and understanding of possible deceptive practices requires vigilance. Educate yourself and be prepared!⭐ #FlatwaterWealth #CyberCrime #cybersecurity #cybersecurityawareness #FraudAwarenessWeek #fraudprevention #fraudprotection

Welcome back to our Beyond Investing Series! This will be our last post and it will be covering the myths and facts of Medicare⭐ There are a lot of misconceptions about Medicare – let’s clear up some of those myths. ⭐Myth 1:⭐ You can enroll in Medicare at any time Your Initial Enrollment Period for most individuals starts 3 months before you turn 65, and lasts for 7th months. As you approach this window, our advisors can help guide you through this process. ⭐Myth 2:⭐ Medicare covers all medical expenses Here are just a couple examples of things that ARE NOT covered by Medicare parts A & B Vision, Dental, or hearing services Long term care or transportation for medical services Prescription drugs (these can be covered through part D) ⭐Myth 3: ⭐Medicare and Medicaid are the same While both are government programs and help cover healthcare expenses, these programs serve different communities. Medicare serves those who are older or disabled. #BeyondInvestingSeries #FlatwaterWealth #MedicareMyths #medicarefacts #MedicareAwareness #MedicareMadeSimple #MythBusting #HeathcareMyths

Welcome back to our Beyond Investing Series! Today we will be covering Medicare costs and coverage: Medicare Part A and Part B are also known as “Original Medicare.” Part A coverage is for in-patient hospitalization, skilled nursing facilities, hospice and home health care. Part B coverage is for your medically necessary services like doctor’s visits, outpatient care and durable medical equipment and preventative services. The 2024 standard monthly premiums for Parts A and B are $1,632.00 and $174.70, respectively. If you’re a higher income earner, you’ll likely pay more for your Part B coverage. In addition to Parts A & B, Part D is available as stand-alone coverage for a prescription drug plan, and requires separate enrollment with a monthly premium of $55.50. Part C or “Medicare Advantage” Plan is an alternative to Parts A & B and available through private insurance companies with the same benefits of Parts A & B; additional, optional benefits may be chosen, which are too complex to discuss here. If you enroll in a Medicare Advantage Plan, you’ll still have Medicare but you’ll get most of your coverage benefits through the Advantage Plan. It is important to note that the information described here is not all-inclusive. There are many factors to consider. Let one of our Wealth Advisors guide you through the decision-making process. #flatwaterwealth #beyondinvestingseries #medicare #partsofmedicare #differentpartsofmedicare #costsandcoverage #Medicaid #MedicarePlanning
