PRESS RELEASE: The California Film Commission has awarded $108.6 million in tax credits to 10 film and television projects through its Film and Television Tax Credit Program and Soundstage Filming Tax Credit Program. This latest round of awards includes one relocating television series, one recurring television series, five new television series, one miniseries, and two non-independent feature films. In celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month, we celebrate Deputy Director of the California Film Commission, Karla Diaz Sayles. Appointed by Governor Gavin Newsom on July 26, 2023, Karla spearheads the CFC's film permitting, location resources, and on-location production support, and runs the California Regional Film Office Partnership. She also manages day-to-day operations at the commission, including budgeting, communications, and strategic initiatives around DEIA, sustainability and workforce development.
