🏀 Thank you to the Detroit Pistons! 🏀 Today, players, coaches, team employees and season ticket members joined us at the Henry Ford Detroit Pistons Performance Center not for a game, but to support local families in need of help this holiday season. Eight hundred families received boxes of food, essentials, and more, as well as frozen turkeys from Kroger. Special thanks to Pistons players, Tobias Harris and Tim Hardaway Jr., for their contributions to cover costs of the Kroger and Feed the Children items!

Feed the Children is excited to share some big news with you. Beginning January 2025, Emily A. Callahan is joining Feed the Children as our new President and CEO! She takes on this role from Travis Arnold, who is retiring after eight years in the position. An Oklahoma native, Callahan brings 25+ years’ experience in both the corporate and nonprofit sectors. Prior to coming to Feed the Children, she served as Chief Marketing Officer of ALSAC, the fundraising and awareness organization of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, and as Senior Vice President of Global Marketing & Networks at Susan G. Komen. She also served as the vice chair for the Association of National Advertisers and is a founder and chair of The Memphis Brand, one of the nation’s only place-based branding initiatives. “It is the honor of a lifetime to return home to join Feed the Children, reconnecting with my community and serving alongside our partners, children and families around the world,” Callahan said. “Together, we can be a powerful movement, improving the lives of thousands of children and families who need us most.” Callahan starts her new role January 2025, as we embark on our new five-year strategic plan to bring food and hope to even more children. Great images from a great event yesterday with FedEx and #FedExCares! Together with other local nonprofit partners Women's Foundation for a Greater Memphis and Neighborhood Christian Centers, Inc. we hosted a Resource Rally in Memphis, TN, to provide food and essential products to 400 area families. In Memphis, one quarter of the population faces food insecurity. With the holidays right around the corner, now is a crucial time to ensure vulnerable families have their basic needs met. No one should have to spend the most wonderful time of the year in hunger.

BIG NEWS from our amazing board! Today through November 13th, our Board of Directors has generously offered to match all donations made to Feed the Children up to $50,000. This gift comes right in time for the holidays, as 1 in 5 children in our country continue to face hunger and food insecurity. https://bit.ly/4eibS9B

It’s a wonderful day in Chelsea, MA! Feed the Children and The Salvation Army Massachusetts Division has joined up with Price Rite Supermarket for their “Feeding Minds and Bodies Campaign,” and we’re here to do just that! At our Resource Rally today, 800 families will receive boxes of food, household and hygiene supplies, backpacks filled with school supplies, Price Rite gift cards, and more. In the United States, 1 in 5 children experiences food insecurity. As the holiday season approaches, more families may struggle to provide – not just gifts and special celebratory meals, but enough food at all, as the absence of in-school meals stretches their budgets to the max. It’s why partnerships with organizations like Price Rite are so important. Since we began working together in 2015, more than 40,000 families have received the fresh fruit, vegetables and groceries they need to nourish their families.
