Fathers, Take Note: Too much love and physical affection will never spoil boys. What spoils them is substituting presence with things or distractions. As our Founder & CEO always says: "Being #PRESENT is the best gift you can give your child." 📖 Exciting news: His upcoming book, #PRESENT, dives deeper into this powerful message and will be released just in time for Father's Day 2025. Stay tuned! #FathersUpLift #FatherhoodMatters #BePresent #ParentingGoals #FatherhoodJourney

We Love our Fathers and Fatherless back to Life
About us
Fathers’ Uplift, is the nation’s first Outpatient Mental Health Center for Child, Paternal Health, and Male Engagement. It was established to provide fathers with the clinical mental health care to more easily adjust to the challenges, emotions, and needs of becoming and being a father. Today, Fathers’ Uplift offers services to guide both men and families through three stages of fatherhood: pre-father education, fatherhood preparation, and fatherhood re-engagement. Our social work clinicians, who specialize in trauma, anger management, group counseling, individual counseling, and child and family counseling, provide clinical support to fathers and their families. We also leads fathers’ retreats and provides coaching to fathers to help them overcome the challenges and barriers they may encounter that would prevent them from remaining engaged in their children’s lives.

Celebrating Recovery and Community (Our First Annual Recovery Brunch) At Fathers' UpLift, we believe recovery happens in many ways, and yesterday’s Recovery Brunch was a powerful testament to that. We were proud to host some incredible treatment providers Sullivan House, Answer House, Hope House, Casa Esperanza, and Gavin House all pillars of recovery and support in the Greater Boston area. Together, we’re working to provide better pathways to healing for fathers and families in need. Our partners shared their services, explored collaboration opportunities, and reinforced the message that recovery has multiple paths, and no one has to walk it alone. If you or someone you know needs support, our Wellness Recovery Group meets Tuesdays online and is open to anyone looking for encouragement and community. Plus, our National Drop-In Group meets every Tuesday at 4 PM to uplift and connect dads everywhere. 📞 For more information or to join, reach out today! Together, we’re building stronger families and healthier communities. 💙 #RecoveryTogether #FathersUpLift #CommunityHealing #WellnessRecovery #BostonRecovery

We’re thrilled to share that Professor Daniel Jacobson López (BU School of Social Work) and Dr. Charles Daniels (Fathers’ Uplift) have secured new funding from the BU Clinical & Translational Science Institute (CTSI) and the WoodNext Foundation to advance culturally responsive, trauma-informed mental health care for Black men in Boston. Black men often bear the brunt of racial trauma, economic inequities, and systemic barriers to care, yet culturally tailored mental health resources can be scarce. This project seeks to change that. By training BIPOC counselors to provide care that directly addresses Black men’s lived experiences, Jacobson López and Daniels are helping ensure that stigma and discrimination no longer stand between communities and the quality mental health support they deserve. This initiative is community-driven at its core, bolstered by the longstanding work of Fathers’ Uplift—the first organization in Boston dedicated to supporting Black men and their families. With their guidance, the project will bridge the gap between academic research and the real-world needs of Black men, ensuring impact that is both sustainable and meaningful. As Dr. Charles Daniels says, “Together, we look ahead with optimism, eager to harness our collective efforts to drive meaningful progress and empower men to lead healthier, more fulfilling lives.” Join us in celebrating this important step toward equitable mental health care!
