Paschen is thrilled to be named the 2024 Illinois State Toll Highway Authority (IRTBA) Contractor of the Year for our work on the I-294 Road & Bridge Widening/Reconstruction Project!   This project, spanning from North Avenue to south of Grand Avenue, showcases our commitment to excellence in construction and innovation. The project included:   - Widening and reconstructing the I-294 roadway - Reconstructing bridges over North Avenue and the I-290 exit ramp - Building retaining walls and installing Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) infrastructure - Constructing Toll Plaza 300 and implementing temporary traffic control - Upgrading drainage, lighting, signage, and landscaping   Thank you to our talented team and partners who brought this vision to life. We’re excited to announce the 8,600 SF Evergreen Elementary School Addition is officially underway! This project will bring six new classrooms and three new restrooms to the school, creating more space for students to grow and thrive.   The scope includes site work, landscaping, MEPFP, masonry, windows, and finishes—all on an accelerated design and construction schedule. In less than 90 days, our team collaborated with the architect to complete expedited scope reviews, constructability planning, and early-release bid packages.   At F.H. A decade ago, F.H. Paschen completed the Design-Build California, Damen, and Western Station Improvements—the first station project in the CTA Your New Blue program. This transformative effort combined historic preservation with modern upgrades, enhancing accessibility, safety, and commuter experience.   Key updates included new structural steel, timber decking, replicated historic railings, ADA-compliant features, improved lighting, updated signage, and complete station house overhauls. We also restored exteriors with masonry work, replicated canopies, and modernized essential systems like electrical and plumbing—all within accelerated schedules! #BuildWithPaschen

This month marks the five-year anniversary of a milestone project for our Atlanta team! As part of the Metropolitan Atlanta Rapid Transit Authority’s (MARTA) Job Order Contract, we successfully completed one of our largest work orders to date—a replacement of six truck lifts at the Avondale Rail Yard. These lifts are critical to servicing MARTA’s train fleet, ensuring smooth operations for one of the city’s vital transportation systems. Our team tackled this complex project with precision, removing existing lift equipment, excavating 9-foot-deep pits with engineered shoring, installing fiberglass caissons, and placing new lift systems—all while the maintenance facility stayed fully operational during off-hours. This project not only enhances safety and efficiency but also ensures MARTA’s rail car trucks can be serviced with greater ease for years to come. #BuildWithPaschen

Awarded our contract in May, broke ground in October. This speed-to-construction was made possible by great partners and a motivated team. As the construction manager, we worked closely with ARCON Associates, Inc. and the District to help validate costs throughout design and released bid documents three months after award.   On Halloween, we celebrated with Benjamin School District 25 on the groundbreaking of their kindergarten wing addition to Evergreen Elementary School.
