At European Imports, we are proud to support Sysco’s Purpose Month by participating in initiatives that make a difference. Guided by Sysco’s mission of Connecting the World to Share Food and Care for One Another, our colleagues came together throughout November to HELP END HUNGER and assist families in need. Here’s a look at the incredible impact we made: Northern Illinois Food Bank (Lake Forest, IL): Repacked an impressive 3,240 lbs of green beans and corn. Los Angeles Regional Food Bank (Los Angeles, CA): Sorted 23,933 lbs of produce, including potatoes, cabbages, onions, and pears. Feed My Starving Children (Schaumburg, IL): Packed 12,960 meals to help combat global hunger. Sack Lunch Packing (Arlington Heights, IL): Assembled 100 peanut butter & jelly sandwiches to support our local community. European Imports Office Food Drive (Arlington Heights, IL): Hosted a month-long food donation drive to gather essential items for those in need. Thank-A-Vet Military Packs (Arlington Heights, IL): Packed and donated 100 snack bags to veterans at the Jesse Brown VA Medical Center in Chicago, IL. A heartfelt thank you to every volunteer who dedicated their time, energy, and compassion to these efforts. Together, we’ve demonstrated the power of community and the impact of giving back. Exciting news from the world of cheese! Our very own Jeffrey Babcock, Cheese Category Manager, had the incredible honor of serving as a judge at the World Cheese Awards in Viseu, Portugal! This prestigious event brought together: 🧀 4,786 cheeses from across the globe 🌎 47 countries represented 🤵♀️🤵♂️ 240 judges evaluating on appearance, aroma, texture, and flavor – with flavor holding the most weight 🏅 104 super golds and 14 finalists chosen by a super jury We’re thrilled to share that Cypress Grove earned a super gold, and our new supplier, Sweet Grass Dairy, received two silver awards for Georgia Gouda and Thomasville Tomme! Other highlights include: 🏆 A medal for Point Reyes TomaRashi, one of our newest items 🎉 Amazing performances by Marieke, Tulip Tree, and Beehive Congratulations to all the winners and participants! This prestigious event in Houston celebrated the pinnacle of culinary excellence, and we were thrilled to engage with MICHELIN-starred chefs and showcase our exceptional products. Our own Scott Kolasinski, Vice President of Sales, crafted two standout recipes for the occasion. A highlight of the evening was Sysco’s Chief Merchandising Officer, Victoria Gutierrez, presenting the MICHELIN Guide Young Chef Award.
