Despite most investing in health and safety spending, nearly 1 in 10 businesses take no additional measures to address top holiday risks like fatigue, stress, and weather hazards. Research, released by EcoOnline, examines the EHS measures businesses adopt to protect employees, highlighting regional differences between North America (US and Canada) and the UK due to regulatory differences. Rise in holiday hazards Research revealed that outside of seasonal illnesses, the top three holiday hazards for North American workers are preventable: fatigue from the increased workload and/or longer working hours (45%), weather-related hazards (40%), and increased stress or pressure to meet deadlines (39%). When asked about existing practices, protocols, and products in place to safeguard workers, North American managers identified additional holiday safety reminders (35%), weekly team briefings (34%), and access to mental health support resources (29%) as the primary lines of defense. Interestingly, 1 in 10 respondents (10%) said no additional measures were taken during the holiday season. Have a safe and happy holiday season!

NEW OSHA HAZCOM REGULATIONS! 🚨 Attention all chemical manufacturers! 🚨 New OSHA HAZCOM regulations are coming into effect. The changes take effect July 19. There are staggered compliance dates for chemical manufacturers, importers, and distributors evaluating substances (January 19, 2026) and mixtures (July 19, 2027). Employers have six months beyond those dates (July 20, 2026, for substances and January 19, 2028, for mixtures) to update any alternative workplace labeling, update their HazCom program, and provide any additional employee training for newly identified physical, health, or other hazards. This rule directly affects chemical manufacturers, importers, and distributors. Indirectly, all employers with hazardous chemicals in their workplaces are also affected. Stay safe, stay compliant! 💼🔍 #OSHA #SafetyFirst #ETCComplianceSolutions
