Meet Bob, a resident of Cedarhurst of McHenry who has inspired his community with his determination and progress. After a fall that resulted in a humerus fracture, Bob was unable to stand without assistance and could only walk 10 feet. With support from his family and his therapy team Liz and Mary, Bob has made incredible strides. Starting with a two-wheeled walker, Bob progressed to a four-wheeled walker and now walks over 500 feet consistently. He even took steps outdoors on grass without any assistive device, a milestone achieved with his physical therapist, Liz. Bob’s care level improved from needing one-on-one assistance to being modified independent, greatly enhancing his quality of life. Special recognition goes to Bob’s therapists Elizabeth Rossi Pierobon, PT, DPT and Mary Edwards, OTR/L, for their amazing work and dedication in helping Bob achieve his goals. Meet Chelsea Parker, a shining star at Addington Place at Lakeside Vista! Chelsea’s personal touch and big heart make a world of difference for her residents, helping them feel valued and empowered to reach their goals. Adeline, a 98-year-young resident, is a wonderful example of Chelsea’s dedication. When Adeline first moved in, she was hesitant to leave her room at the end of the hall. But with Chelsea’s warm welcome and encouragement, Adeline began participating in activities and enrolled in the GUIDE program with physical and occupational therapy. Today, Adeline walks to every meal and eagerly waves to the therapy team, excited for her sessions. Her progress is a testament to the care and support Chelsea brings to the community.
