Gambling.com Group has agreed to acquire OddsJam in a deal that could be worth up to $160m (£126m) as it once again flexes its M&A muscles. The Gambling Commission is on the hunt for a senior manager dedicated to industry engagement as the regulator aims to strengthen its relationship with UK operators. The hybrid position will be based out of its Birmingham headquarters, with remuneration set at £52,000. The closing date for applications is 12 January, with the successful candidate being tasked with leading engagement with operators, with the aim of “driving compliance at the earliest opportunity”. The European Gaming and Betting Association (EGBA) has announced that the fourth annual European Safer Gambling Week achieved record-breaking participation levels last month. The week-long initiative, held between 18 and 24 November, delivered improved KPIs against last year’s campaign, which in itself saw 67 million safety messages sent to EGBA members’ European customers. This year’s event reached 26 countries, including four new markets in Croatia, Serbia, Slovakia and Ukraine. Other countries involved were Austria, Denmark, Finland, Spain, Norway and Poland. The Advertising Standards Authority (ASA) has not upheld a complaint made against Betfair Casino over a radio advert for its Prize Pinball game aired in September. The single complainant argued the commercial was inappropriately scheduled, given it could have been heard by children at the time. Global Gaming Women (GGW) has named ex-Caesars Entertainment director of VIP Pamela Buckley as its new executive vice-president (EVP). As part of her duties in the role, Buckley will be tasked with overseeing the strategic leadership of the group to ensure growth. She will report into GGW executive director Kelly Hatch.
