Today, the Ector County Commissioners voted to move the Ector County Library into the future. Based on recommendations from the Library Advisory Committee, the Commissioners unanimously decided to move forward with a new Library building, which will be located at 3rd and Texas in Downtown Odessa. The project will be funded through a Public Private Partnership (P3), which means it will be provided to the citizens with no tax increase. The 54,000 square-foot building will house a state-of-the-art public library, separate children and teen areas, meeting and gathering spaces open to the public, and will include a new Hispanic Heritage area. Estimates to complete the total project are just above $58 million, including all new furnishings and technology. #TheLibraryWeDeserve
