🌟 Today’s the Day! Colorado Gives Day 2024 is Here! 🌟 Every year, Colorado Gives Day shows us the incredible power of community. Together, we celebrate the spirit of giving that transforms lives and strengthens organizations like the Denver Public Library Friends Foundation. This year, our goal is $115,000 from 500 donations—and we can’t do it without you! Your support could help fund: 📚 Renovations at beloved branches like Schlessman. 📱 Expanding access to eBooks and audiobooks for all. 🎉 Programming for the newly reopened Central Library. Every gift, no matter the size, makes an impact. Today, your donation goes even further thanks to a generous matching gift, which boosts every dollar contributed. Let’s make Colorado Gives Day 2024 one to remember! Thank you for supporting the Denver Public Library and helping us create a stronger, more connected Denver. #ColoradoGivesDay #SupportYourLibrary #CommunityImpact #DPL

🚨 Exciting Announcement: Katy Anderson Named New Executive Director of the Denver Public Library Friends Foundation! 🚨 After a highly competitive search, we’re excited to announce that Katy Anderson has been appointed as the next Executive Director of the Denver Public Library Friends Foundation, officially taking over in January 2025. Katy will succeed Jeff Riley, who will retire at the end of this year after six years of visionary leadership. A Colorado native, Katy brings a wealth of experience and a deep commitment to community service. She holds a master’s in International Administration from the Korbel School of International Studies at the University of Denver and spent time teaching English in China, and Morocco, and serving in the Peace Corps in Niger, West Africa. Her international experiences fostered her strong leadership skills and passion for community building. Katy has spent over a decade working in Denver’s philanthropic sector, where she’s led initiatives around affordable housing, children’s advocacy, civic affairs, and international exchange. Since joining the Friends Foundation in 2022 as Chief Philanthropy Officer, she has played a crucial role in expanding its fundraising efforts and fostering key partnerships. "As the new Executive Director, I am looking forward to the opportunity to activate community members and library lovers across the city to support their library through advocacy and fundraising at the Friends Foundation. People want to do good in the world. We can give them a clear avenue to do that and truly make a difference in the lives of others,” Anderson shared. “Katy’s leadership and direct experience at the Friends Foundation make her the ideal choice to lead the Friends Foundation into its next chapter of growth,” said outgoing Jeff Riley, Executive Director DPL Friends Foundation. “Her deep-rooted passion for libraries, combined with her ability to engage the community, will be critical in expanding the Foundation’s reach and continuing its important work in supporting one of Denver’s cornerstone institutions,” said Laurie Troge, Board Chair. Please join us in congratulating Katy on her new role and thanking Jeff Riley for his exceptional service and dedication over the past six years! #leadership #nonprofit #libraries #philanthropy #Denver #community
