Introducing: Marshall, the aircraft marshal! Earlier this year, we began working on a new spokesperson campaign for New Hampshire’s Manchester-Boston Regional Airport. From extensive research and discovery to filming in the studio and on the runway, this has been a fun, fascinating project. Plus, we got the whole process on film. Here’s a pro-tip: Make presentations just a little bit weird by filming yourself in costume outside the office. Finaly finished this comparison! Here’s the back to back breakdown from NERFs to Gsplats a year later… We’re using the exact same source video we captured with Shutterstock a year ago and the results are exciting to see. I’m feeling we’re right on the edge for this tech to be used on a high level production sets. And the best part is it’s only going to get better! Cutting down on digital world creation cost and times while also allowing your talent to be “teleported” to environments all over the world or even hard to reach locations where you can’t bring large production equipment. The fact that this is all possible in our lifetime is a bit insane to me! We’ve all seen this photo of the “the starry night” By Van Gogh… But what if you could be apart of the painting? Effecting the image with your own presence. On top of that adding controls for participants/attendees to change their own lighting and backdrops could be added via a simple UI. This can be applied to so many other pieces of work it’s exciting to see where it’s going to go. If you’ve got ideas or aplications that are top of mind feel free to reach out! Taking physical world merchandise and adding a digital effect on it let’s you explore it deeper! We’re calling it “quantum canvas” Taking the same concepts we use in virtual production. Wesley Messina used Cuebric to create the 2.5D layers and built out this effect for you to use real-time just by scanning the QR Code on the side of the canvas with your phone. The potential use cases for this are exciting when tied to existing packaging or merchandise. Giving your fans the opportunity to share their experiences directly on their social platforms.

When I was younger I always was in awe of fire trucks… it was just something about them that made me want to become a fireman just to drive a firetruck. Just over a year ago Tim Messina and I had a vision for an event space right outside the studio called FIRE N GIN (fire engine). This would not only be a great space to hangout after a production day but also allow us to host unforgettable experiences with over the fire cooking to fill the soul. And over this last weekend we were blessed to host the Oliver Patch Project at Studio Lab to give them a space to create and host an event to celebrate the family’s that are part of their community. To see the kids climb all over the trucks and explore for themselves as they let their imagination run wild is really a dream come true. Thank you to Brian Burkhardt for collaborating on this project and trusting us to put on a great event for their family’s that are supported through their nonprofit.
