With their innovative research proposal on the tokenization of real estate, this team has earned one of our $7,200 data research grants! Miklos Vasarhelyi, Alexander Sannella, Gerard(Rod)Ph.D,CFE Brennan, and Maria Guangyue Zhang know that blockchain technology has significantly changed the real estate game. Using THREE datasets on Dewey, REsimplifi, Inc., Verisk, ClimateCheck, they will delve further into this topic by developing a highly nuanced analysis of how the tokenization of real estate assets impacts property values, investment decisions, and market liquidity. There's going to be some high-impact findings from this one—we look forward to following along! #academicresearch #realestateresearch #realestatedata #blockchainresearch

Geospatial data can reveal human behavior and movement trends on a global scale. High-impact data like this belongs in the hands of academics! That's why we've recently partnered with Veraset to make their device-level mobility data available to researchers. 🎉 With their POI, Work, and Home datasets, academic researchers can gain unprecedented insights into human movement patterns and behaviors. Here’s just a few ways Veraset can power your research: 📍 Track visits to over 4 million high-interest points of interest (POIs) across the U.S. 👣 Dive deep into mobility patterns, including detailed home and work location data at the ZIP code, CBG, or geohash 5 level. 🏙️ Understand trends and behaviors that help with urban planning, retail analysis, and more. Powered by raw GPS signals and precise polygons, Veraset’s data is the foundation for understanding the “where” and “when” of human activity. Whether you’re studying human mobility, urban development, or consumer behavior, we know Veraset data will be a game-changer for academics. Coming to Dewey soon - reach out to us to learn more! #GeospatialData #MobilityInsights #LocationIntelligence #AcademicResearch

What did we get wrong? We've been on a mission to explore the current landscape of commercial data made available for academic research—both through data providers directly and through platforms like ours. After hundreds of conversations with third-party data providers working with academics, and sourcing from data provider sites and academic paper citations, we’ve built the Academic Research Data Market Map. 🗺️ We hope that this snapshot will help everyone in the academic research community understand our industry just a little bit better. But here’s the thing: there is SO much valuable data out there and we know this is a work in progress. That’s why we're asking for help from YOU—researchers, data librarians, or anyone closely connected to the academic research data-sourcing process. Check it out and let us know: 👉 What’s missing? 👉 What doesn’t belong? 👉 What improvements could we make to ensure this an accurate, useful resource for academics? Drop your thoughts below and tag any colleagues who might have input to share, too!

What a great year 🎉 We can't wait to see the papers that these 2024 stats turn into!
1.74 trillion records. That's how much data Dewey has delivered to academic researchers in 2024. Some other fun stats from the year: - 630 universities around the world - 3,752 datasets consumed - 2,831 new community members - Nearly 500TB of data downloaded Academics are HUNGRY for data, and they're turning to Dewey to enrich their research and alleviate the pains of licensing data. What makes me prouder than these stats is the team we've built. I'm having a blast working with our scrappy team of four. We did an exercise recently to define our values and landed on Grit, Ownership, Action, and Trust. Kelly Sterk, Jacob Hershfield, and Nolan Peters exemplify 🐐. Many others have helped along the way. Good friends Karthik Kumar, Ameya Pathare, and Amplify Data helped us pipe every single one of these deliveries. Auren Hoffman 📚 and the SafeGraph team gave us the kickstart we needed at the beginning. Not to mention dozens of data partners and thousands of academics who comprise the Dewey ecosystem. We couldn't do this without you. Excited to wrap up year two and see what next year brings.
