Delta Dental of Minnesota recently supported the mission of Children's Law Center of Minnesota (CLC), and we heard stories of courage and hope at its Celebration of Champions Benefit. For the past 29 years, CLC has promoted and protected the legal rights and well-being of children and youth in foster care. CLC has trained over 1,000 volunteer attorneys and represented over 4,000 abused and neglected children in our state. This work aligns with our effort to address social drivers of health along with oral health. Event attendees also recognized individuals who demonstrated compassion, leadership, and dedication to children and youth in foster care and who uplifted the work of CLC. This included former Minnesota Viking, Pro Football Hall of Fame inductee, and retired State Supreme Court Justice Alan Page, who received the 2024 Rosalie E. Wahl Justice Award for Children. Last night, Delta Dental of Minnesota joined community leaders, friends and Bolder Options President Darrell Thompson to support the impact of Bolder Options Youth Mentoring. The annual Bolder Bash fundraiser was an evening filled with inspiring stories that Bolder Options participants shared on their journey through youth mentorship, and it asked us to ask ourselves: Who believed in you? Bolder Options provides wellness-based mentoring for middle school youth (ages 10-14) in the Twin Cities and Rochester. It identifies youth who need support and matches them with volunteer mentors who focus on holistic personal development. This includes healthy living, emotional development, community connectivity, and lifelong learning. Delta Dental of Minnesota is proud to contribute to this critical work. On Friday, Delta Dental of Minnesota joined CommonBond Communities at its Celebration of Home fundraiser. This event connected local, governmental, corporate, and philanthropic partners to those who call CommonBond home.    CommonBond is a Minnesota-based nonprofit that provides affordable housing across four states. Last year it provided access to 6,214 affordable units across 98 housing communities in Minnesota.   Proceeds from Friday’s event go toward the wraparound services that CommonBond offers its residents, including health and wellness services to promote healthy living and independence. We support these efforts to strengthen community health and remove barriers to optimal oral health. 116,995 dental visits in 2023 is a remarkable impact! Our Community Health Centers provide critical dental services for people who face barriers to achieving oral and overall health in Minnesota. Since its beginning, Delta Dental of Minnesota Foundation has developed partnerships and supported the growth of Community Health Centers across the state. We are especially proud of our community partners during National Health Center Week. Many Community Health Center clinics have also cultivated relationships with the University of Minnesota School of Dentistry to enable hands-on experience for dental students while also delivering critical access to dental care for the community. This includes Family HealthCare in Moorhead, NorthPoint Health & Wellness Center, Native American Community Clinic, and People's Center Clinics & Services, in Minneapolis. Our very own Vice President of Human Resources, Elizabeth Peifer, SHRM-SCP, was a panelist last week on the Minneapolis/St. Paul Business Journal (MSPBJ) HR Update. She and the other panelists from MDI | Minnesota Diversified Industries, the University of Minnesota, Room & Board, and Mortenson, took on the topics of employee engagement, retention, the multi-generational workforce, AI, and more. The story will be included in the upcoming MSPBJ issue.

On Monday, Delta Dental of Minnesota joined community partners and the Monitors Foundation at its event to support programs that develop and enhance the academic, leadership, and social skills of youth in the Minneapolis/St. Paul metropolitan area. Established in 1998, Monitors Foundation is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization and the philanthropic arm of the Monitors Club MN. Our team has once again earned the honor of being named in the Star Tribune's Top 200 Work Places in the midsize companies category. This designation is awarded based on benchmarks set by Energage who conduct an independent survey of employees. During the program, Delta Dental of Minnesota CEO Rod Young was the Keynote Speaker. Rod spoke on the mission statement and values of the company, and shared his unifying message of "Together we can." We want to thank our team members, whose hard work, values and support make these accomplishments possible.
