Delaware County District Library is thrilled to announce that we've reached 100,000 card holders! Every library card is a door to a whole new world. And as Delaware County grows, we're proud to be growing right along with it. Thank you to Tom Bosco from ABC6 for helping us share the good news!

We are so excited for @westervillelibrary to join the Central Library Consortium! 📚 While we add Westerville Public Library to the system, our catalog/inventory system will essentially be frozen from November 15 - 18. During this window, you will need your Library card (physical or digital through the DCDL app) to check out materials. We will not be able to look up your library account number at checkout. After a tornado 🌪️ destroyed the library in Lakeview, Ohio (Logan County on March 14, they lost all their furniture, equipment, and books - except for the books that were checked out. The Friends of DCDL offered to help them restock their shelves! Steve and Donna Jackson sorted through your donations to find a variety of materials to help rebuild their collection. In September, the Jacksons delivered 710 books 📚 and media to the @Logan County Library. Marcia Linch, from LCL, was on hand to accept the donation and several community members pitched in to help us carry the items into the Library. Libraries helping libraries, and our amazing friends, are some of the things we're so grateful for this Thankful Season.

If you've ever enjoyed our Summer Reading Club or an author visit in the past few years, you have the Friend of the Delaware Library to thank! October 20 - 26 is National Friends of the Library week, and we're so thankful for our wonderful Friends. The Powell Branch Library (460 S. Liberty St.) will be TEMPORARILY closed to the public from October 28 - December 2nd for plumbing and floor repairs. Powell patrons, for those five weeks, we ask that you not return any materials to the Powell Branch Library, and instead use one of our other wonderful locations until repairs are complete. A congratulations is in order! Marty, from our Powell Branch Library, is retiring next week after 17 years with DCDL. Her last day is Wednesday, October 16! Stop by to say farewell and congrats sometime this week!

All DCDL locations will be closed on Monday, October 14 for a staff in-service day. We take this one day a year to gather our staff for system updates, training, and team building at the Liberty Branch Library.
