Today marks 50 years since the illegal invasion and occupation of Cyprus. It serves as a reminder of the ongoing struggle for justice, peace, and reunification for the island and our people. The invasion on July 20, 1974, led to the displacement of thousands of Cypriots, including my parents, the division of the island, and a continued military presence that violates international law and human rights. More than a thousand Cypriots are still missing after disappearing in 1974 that we do not know if they died or if they spent their entire lives in Turkish prisons as prisoners of war. Half a century later, we honor the resilience and courage of those affected and renew our commitment to seeking a peaceful resolution. #cyprus #neverforget

US Visa Waiver Program for Cypriot Nationals Cyprus is very close to qualifying for the US Visa Waiver Program. This program will have significant impact on political and socio-economic benefits for the citizens of both countries. The remaining requirement that we are trying to achieve is to meet the hurdle of min number of US visa applications by Cypriot nationals. We have until Sept 30, 2024 to do so and our sources tell us that we are VERY close. Please encourage all your friends, and relatives in Cyprus to apply for a US tourist visa immediately even if they are not planning to travel to the US right away. The visa is good for 10 years.
