Founders - use our current benchmark data to help raise your next VC round. Broken out into 25th, 50th, and 75th percentiles so you can place your fundraise within the broad current market. 𝗩𝗮𝗹𝘂𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 • All numbers in the chart below are post-money valuations for primary rounds in Q3 2024. • Solid growth in Seed and Series A valuations from Q2. 𝗖𝗮𝘀𝗵 𝗥𝗮𝗶𝘀𝗲𝗱 • All numbers reflect the total amount raised in a given round. • Rounds have gotten larger at the 50th pct over the past year. 𝗗𝗶𝗹𝘂𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 • Percentages in the chart reflect the total equity sold to investors in the round. For SAFE rounds, it reflects the expected ownership at conversion given the valuation cap. • Dilution is calculated for each round independently - so you can't just read across the median valuation and round size to get the dilution figure! Other people will have different definitions of "pre-seed" - I get it! Amount raised in a SAFE round is the biggest determinant of the valuation cap. Also good to note that some of the pre-seed raises will probably end up raising more money on the same valuation cap. That part of the market is tricky. 𝗞𝗲𝘆 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴𝘀 𝘁𝗼 𝗸𝗻𝗼𝘄 𝗮𝗯𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝗤𝟯 1. Okay quarter. $20B invested into Carta startups, little less than Q2, little more than Q1. 2. Down rounds still hovering around 20% of all rounds. Still more kludge to work through from the boom times. 3. Dilution continues to center around 20% in Seed and Series A. 4. Time between rounds notched down for Seed to A, but up for A to B. Still good to plan for longer than you expect. 5. M&A bounceback? 170 companies acquired last quarter, the highest since 2022. Our full State of Private Markets report for Q3 is now live. Link in comments for the full report. If you want this graphic for your industry, give me shout that out in the comments below. Here's to a strong fundraising close & a better 2025! Let's play with the what if question for a moment. Tomorrow, when you go to work, you will realize that you have to start working with and around a robot like this. Automation suddenly appears at the workplace in the form of an almost humanoid bot. How would that make you feel? Would you be excited to be around robots or would that make you angry? Would you fear your job due to the rise of automation?

The spread of wearable digital technologies in healthcare generating big data entailed the appearance of a new type of medical information. They produce actionable insights into the biological state of individuals, just like “general” biomarkers, but are collected through digital tools. Here’s our summary of what digital biomarkers mean and how they will be used in the near future. You'll find the link to the article in the comments!

CEO & Founder of WHAM | TIME100 Health

As we reflect on the first half of 2024, it's encouraging to see the strides we've made in the world of women’s health. This momentum give us a renewed sense of purpose and energy as we move into the second half of the year.   This year has already been uplifting, and I'm excited to share some key highlights from a recent Forbes article that underscore the progress and innovation happening in our field:   🔹 $679.48M raised by women’s health companies in H1 2024, setting a new midyear record. 🔹 $12.58M: the highest average deal size seen in recent years. 🔹 A significant increase in $50M+ fundraising rounds, reflecting growing confidence in this sector.   These achievements are in alignment with the White House's Executive Order on Advancing Women's Health and the unwavering support of leaders across the ecosystem.   However, according to the author of the article, Eva Epker, Director of Marketing at Avestria Ventures, “Since 2019, an average of 2.1% of the VC funding invested in healthcare companies has gone to women’s health companies by the half-year point and an average of 2.7% has gone to them by the year’s end. In 1H 2024, women’s health companies received about 2.5% of this funding". Although this is moving in the right direction, it is still a very small percent of VC funding – which is why WHAM is focused on doubling that number through our 3Not30 goals and innovative partnerships.   We all need to advocate for equitable funding and support for women’s health, recognizing the vast potential within this field. How else will we ensure that this upward trend not only continues, but flourishes?   Image Credit: Getty https://lnkd.in/eseFi5AP   #WomensHealth #HealthcareInnovation #WHAMNow #3Not30 #HealthEquity

🎉 CancerX is thrilled to announce the graduation of the 16 startup companies from the first cohort of our Accelerator program! Over four months, the Startups engaged in 16 curriculum sessions led by CancerX Accelerator Champions and Mentors. Topics included business scaling, government innovation, frontline healthcare, and industry partnerships, which assisted the startups in growing their businesses in various areas. By graduating from the Accelerator program, these startups now have a roadmap to successfully scale their company, an opportunity to move forward with their sponsor, and a strong community supporting their development.
