About us
The Connecticut Women’s Consortium (CWC) is a nonprofit organization that provides education, training, advocacy, and policy development on gender-responsive and trauma-informed care. Our mission is to ensure that the behavioral health system responds to the needs of women and the people and organizations that affect them. Our audience includes men and women, state agencies, nonprofits, clinicians, social workers, teachers, students, and others interested in mental health, addiction and behavioral health care. The CWC includes both local and national experts in our training catalogs. We also lead on initiatives and programs that support trauma-informed, gender-responsive practices, such as our Trauma and Gender Practice Improvement Collaborative (TAG Initiative) with Connecticut’s Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services.

Grief isn’t linear—it’s a winding path full of twists, turns, and moments of pause. This Grief Awareness Week, we honor the unique journeys we all take to heal and grow. Grief isn't only about the loss of a loved one, it can also come from ending relationships, moving, letting go of something, healing from trauma, changing careers, or other life transitions. While no two paths are the same, here are steps that may bring comfort and connection along the way: 💬 Talk It Out: Connect with a trusted friend, therapist, or support group. 📖 Express Yourself: Journal your feelings or create something meaningful. 🌳 Find Moments of Peace: Spend time in nature, meditate, or try grounding exercises. 🫂 Seek Connection: Lean on your community or loved ones for support. 📷 Honor Your Memories: Create a ritual, memory book, or keepsake to cherish meaningful moments, experiences, or connections you've lost. 💗 Give Yourself Grace: Healing takes time—there’s no “right way” to grieve. It’s natural to pause, reflect, or take detours along the way. Healing unfolds at its own pace, and that’s okay.
