Fighting For Our Environment in CT
About us
The Connecticut League of Conservation Voters (CTLCV) is a bipartisan, statewide, nonprofit organization dedicated to giving our environment a voice at the Capitol. We work to elect champions who will fight for the air we breathe, water we drink, and values we share. During session, we inform lawmakers and the public about key environmental priorities, track critical votes, and hold our leaders accountable in our annual Scorecard. CTLCV identifies and tracks state legislation introduced in Connecticut's General Assembly that will impact the state's natural resources. State Legislators are notified about these bills through periodic Scorecard Alerts and asked to cast a pro-environment vote. After each session, CTLCV produces an Environmental Scorecard that grades legislators on their overall votes and makes this information widely available to the public. Each year, CTLCV endorses political candidates for state and local office who have demonstrated leadership and pledge to make the environment a high legislative priority. Endorsements for the 2014 election cycle are being announced beginning in August 2014. CTLCV works to get more conservation-minded people involved in the political process by providing the tools and information they need to make informed choices at election time. CTLCV is helping to build a stronger environmental presence in the State Legislature and empowering Connecticut residents to protect the environment.

"The idea that #offshorewind will raise costs is simply NOT supported by the facts. Instead, offshore wind offers a clear & direct path to reducing electricity bills & ensuring affordable, reliable energy for all." - @SynapseEnergy https://lnkd.in/eMUpxPCY

Connecticut League of Conservation Voters (CTLCV) reposted this
Failure to invest in clean energy comes at a tremendous cost to our most vulnerable residents. Our respected friend and colleague, Dr. Mark Mitchell shared thoughts on Connecticut’s recent inaction on offshore wind and what it means for environmental justice communities. “I am hopeful that Connecticut’s announcement will be coming soon, and Governor Lamont joins the fray. If not, I am afraid that this will become another environmental justice nightmare." Read the full Op-ed here 👉 https://lnkd.in/eZd9zkZn #offshorewind
Opinion: CT can’t afford the costs of inaction on offshore wind
