Spreading the joy of anime just got a lot easier. I’m excited to share that the Crunchyroll streaming app is now available on Comcast entertainment devices. This new partnership marks another significant step in making anime even more accessible to fans across the country. Xfinity and Xumo customers – whether they’re longtime anime enthusiasts or newcomers – can easily discover and enjoy our extensive anime library. That means more than 25,000 hours of anime, featuring over 50,000 episodes across 2,000 titles. I’m really proud to be part of our team that is so dedicated to bringing anime fans the stories they love.

On November 2, the Cool Japan Center opened in Irvine, California. During the opening ceremonies, Crunchyroll was honored to receive the Cool Japan Business award. Our CFO Travis Page and CCO Asa Suehira accepted the honor on behalf of our global Crunchyroll team, licensors and creative partners in Japan, and the millions of anime fans worldwide. The Cool Japan Center is a space dedicated to celebrating and sharing Japan's rich cultural heritage. It's a vibrant destination for art, #anime, #manga, fashion, technology, cuisine, and more. Governor of Yamanashi Prefecture, Kotaro Nagasaki, was the guest of honor at the ceremony, which was co-hosted by Dr. Hiroshi Tasaka, former advisor to Prime Minister Naoto Kan and current Chancellor of The Akademeia 21st Century, a group of 17 colleges that provide art to the center; and Dr. Anthony Al-Jamie, Director of the Cool Japan Center and Editor-in-Chief of the Tokyo Journal. Actor Takaaki Hirakawa (Shogun, Blue Eye Samurai) served as master of ceremonies.

How anime took over the world: The global footprint of the animated sub-genre is growing inexorably A lot of the global anime evangelism, at this point, is being done by Crunchyroll the streaming service that became a subsidiary of Sony in 2021 and distributes over 1,400 anime titles to more than 200 countries and regions. Sony expects Crunchyroll to be the primary driver of growth in its film and TV division over the next few years. https://lnkd.in/eAbPsPZj
