An absolute blast lighting up Taylor University's Silent Night game with 2000 wristbands ✨
Wow!! Watching something you’ve worked so hard on come to life is so rewarding! Just about a month ago I was handed an LED wristband from a concert by our Associate Athletic Director and told to look up anything I could on it. The next day we had a meeting with the sales department at CrowdSync to learn more about the product and if it was feasible. Within a week we had ordered over 2000 LED wristbands for our Silent Night game. Our goal wasn’t to put on a show or change what people were looking at or focusing on. We wanted to accentuate the already incredible game and add something new. The week leading up to the game was spent learning the system and how to use the program. We also had to sort and mix all of the wristbands as well as pull tabs for them to work. We were able to plan out songs and what color and style the lights would be. Rainbow pandemonium for the 10th point, red and green for Mariah Carey, purple flashes for every score, and red, white, and blue for the National Anthem were all easy choices. When it came time to run it, everything was manual. Natalie and I had to split time operating it. Sitting up above the students and fans while the lights were running was so special. After being able to experience the whole day of Silent Night from a different view, I found yet another reason why I love working in sports! Watching it all come together truly is the why! I am so thankful for this opportunity and project and even more thankful for the reward of watching people enjoy them!
