The Andy Warhol Foundation Arts Writers Grant has announced its 2024 grantees! The program supports writing about contemporary art and aims to ensure that critical writing remains a valued mode of engaging with the visual arts. The Arts Writers Grant has funded over 425 writers over 19 years, providing more than $12.5 million of support. In its 2024 cycle, the Arts Writers Grant awarded a total of $945,000 to 30 writers. Ranging from $15,000 to $50,000 in three categories—Articles, Books, and Short-Form Writing—these grants support projects addressing both general and specialized art audiences, from reviews for magazines and newspapers to in-depth scholarly studies. In 2024, Creative Capital provided funding to 167 artists creating new work in 29 states and 84 cities, from Altadena to Waynesboro. We also delivered free professional development resources that have served thousands of artists worldwide.
