Fitch ratings said in a report November 21, 2024, that unless the 2023 Consolidated Appropriations Act is extended costs could increase for hospitals. The Act, which is set to expire December 31, 2024, allows for hospital-at-home and telehealth reimbursement from CMS. The American Association of Colleges of Pharmacy released a third quarter report indicating an increase in demand for pharmacy technicians and pharmacy directors. The demand for hospital pharmacists has also grown. On November 7, 2024, Baxter, the nation’s largest manufacturer of intravenous and peritoneal dialysis solutions, is predicting a return of 90% to 100% of select IV products by the end of 2024 at its North Carolina site.
