Thank you to everyone who was able to make last night's event!! Wasn't Nick so inspiring?! See you all in January!
Last night's Conscious Comms Collective event was a dream! Nick Kristof did not disappoint -- WOW! If you haven't read his memoir, Chasing Hope, you are missing out. The book made me laugh, cry, and think long and hard about the world's injustices. My favorite quote: “Journalism is an act of hope. What impels reporters forward is our faith that if we get the story and shine a light in the darkness, the public respond and change will come.” Words can change the world, and Nick is living proof of that. His words have lifted women and girls out of poverty and into the classroom, nearly eliminated diseases and lessened mortality, and inspired little ole me at age 14 to use words for good. Thank you to all our members, sponsors, and friends for coming out last night. See you at the next Collective event on January 29; you won't want to miss it!
