Are you familiar with the BRYSON project (BauRaumeffiziente Hydrogen Speicher Optimierter Nutzbarkeit or “space-efficient hydrogen storage with optimized usability”)? The goal of the project funded by the German Federal Ministry of Economics and Energy was to develop new Type 4 H2 storage tanks that could fit into the same space as a battery for electric vehicles (EV). It also explored automated manufacturing and low permeability concepts, including EVOH liner and novel PPA matrix. Ginger Gardiner shares more on the BRYSON project here: https://lnkd.in/gWWp7Ner

Bonded composite patch repair offers a “cold” technique. However, few bonded repairs to steel structures have been qualified by classification societies. Bureau Veritas Group and partners set out in 2019 to develop such a methodology for the design and evaluation of bonded composite repairs to steel structures using a novel equivalent interface test specimen and simulation. More about this on CompositesWorld: https://lnkd.in/gYs7U_gr 👆 #composites #bondedrepair

For years, Rapid Prototyping, which is owned by Foarboc Ltd., had been manufacturing molds from CNC-machined polyurethane foam and hand-laid glass fiber-reinforced plastic (GFRP). In 2020, the company, led by Gyorgy Juhasz, was one of the first customers to acquire a standalone pellet extruder from LFAM supplier CEAD Group. Now Rapid Prototyping uses 3D printing to produce faster, higher quality, recyclable foam plugs and composite boat molds. Hannah Mason tells more here: https://lnkd.in/gdqkj6Xi 👆 #sustainability #composites #LFAM #3Dprinting #boats #yachts
