🎙️ New #Podcast Alert! 🚜 Chelsea Dade, Founder and Owner of CFHJ joined the Maryland Rural Health Association to discuss health communication in rural communities. We covered barriers, opportunities, and the power of inclusive messaging to support health equity. "Compared to medium, small, large fringe, and large central metropolitan populations, rural individuals had the lowest rate of private insurance coverage, the highest rates of public coverage, and the highest uninsured status" (Rural Health Information Hub, 2022) (https://lnkd.in/e9KardV2) 🎧 Listen here: https://lnkd.in/eYmM_yKp #RuralHealth #HealthEquity #HealthJustice Rural Health Information Hub National Rural Health Association Georgia Rural Health Association Virginia Rural Health Association Rural LISC

A study, led by University of Surrey's Dr. Wei Zhang alongside Dr. Elena Davitti and Professor Sabine Braun and published in Perspectives, surveyed 47 professional #interpreters with experience in remote interpreting across various health care contexts. This research found that while remote interpreting technologies like telephone and video interpreting are widely adopted, they may affect the quality of #communication between health care providers and patients. https://lnkd.in/eeJZZRmi

And let faith be the bridge you build to overcome evil and welcome good.” ~Maya Angelou, Author, Poet, and Activist #gratitude #endofyearreflections

Here's a #hardtruth: The health justice field often presents itself as progressive, but our Workplace Equity Report uncovers a different reality. 🔍 Despite the rhetoric, inequities like pay gaps, discrimination, and toxic cultures persist—making it nearly impossible for employees to thrive. The abuse of trust in a field dedicated to justice is both startling and unacceptable. See the post below to hear about Jordan’s Story. Jordan’s story isn’t unique. Our report reveals how many workers in health organizations face similar barriers, making it clear that workplace equity is more talk than action in too many spaces. 💬 How can we create workplaces that truly support change-makers like Jordan? Share your thoughts below, and revisit our full report for insights and solutions. https://lnkd.in/eXVG6jvp

Last month, Chelsea Dade, Founder and Owner of Communicate For Health Justice, attended George Mason University’s (GMU) 2nd Annual Diverse Business Summit in Fairfax, VA. Key insights included GMU President Gregory Washington’s call to continue modelling "inclusive excellence," which deeply resonates with CFHJ’s mission. The summit highlighted the value of connecting with local small business development centers and understanding the unique roles within educational institutions—from students to staff—when making a pitch. Importantly, knowing your metrics was stressed as essential for success. CFHJ is excited to apply these principles as we continue to advance equity in health communication as a #Blackowned, #womanowned, #smallbusiness. #diversity #businessinsights #Entrepreneurship #DMV
