What happens when over 90 passionate corporate volunteers from Allstate, including a team from Bumble Inc., come together to uplift 19 nonprofits tackling domestic violence and abuse? The Allstate Foundation, in collaboration with Common Impact, brought this vision to life through an inspiring skills-based volunteering event that is creating meaningful change. Volunteers used their expertise in human resources, marketing, data management, and other areas to develop actionable solutions and strategies, making a lasting impact on organizations like Moving Rasa, A/PI DVRP, Kiran, Inc., and SEPA Mujer. The event boosted nonprofit capacity and sparked a deeper connection between corporate employees and their community, with 98% of Allstate volunteers saying it inspired them to volunteer again. This is the power of skills-based volunteering: turning professional expertise into lasting, meaningful change. "Companies are a huge part of the community, especially when they tap into their special skills and networks to provide relief in times of crisis." ⬇️
Wow. Learning about the heroics by Duke Energy Corporation workers after Hurricane Helene left a hospital without primary and backup power. Amy Kathryn Strecker (left) told a packed house at 3BL Network Effect: Charlotte that a lineman hauled a power line by hand over a mountain because the roads were impassable. Tori Kaplan (center) of Truist stressed the need for big companies to listen first after a disaster rather than jumping into response mode without understanding the community's needs. Grateful to Rick Lyke, APR of Mower for moderating an informative panel.

When companies like Nielsen bring purposeful giving to life, incredible things happen. We were proud to have been part of Nielsen Global Impact Day (NGID)! Through a collaboration with Common Impact, 11 Nielsen employees brought their skills to the table in a virtual skills-based volunteering event. Their expertise helped Partners for Better Housing Coalition and Reap Benefit tackle key projects like website strategy, messaging, and data analysis. A huge shoutout to the dedicated volunteers who shared their time and talents. 👏 Learn more about NGID. ⬇️ https://lnkd.in/g-hUgsb5 #SkillsBasedVolunteering #CSR #CorporateVolunteering

Danielle Carley made an incredible impact by partnering with Moving Rasa to help them advance their mission of empowering marginalized communities. Danielle and her Allstate team developed an informative brochure to showcase Moving Rasa's impact. By effectively communicating their value proposition, the brochure will help Moving Rasa forge new partnerships, attract potential funders, and raise awareness about their work at the National Sexual Assault Conference. We extend a huge thank you to the The Allstate Foundation for enabling volunteers to share their skills and create positive change! #SkillsBasedVolunteering #Volunteer #CorporateSocialResponsibility #Connections #EmployeeEngagement
