This morning I was listening to OpenAI's 2024 Dev Day, where Sam Altman was asked, "If you were a 23-24-year-old with the AI infrastructure we have today, what would you choose to build?" The first thing on his list was an AI Tutor (see interview link below). Our team at Cognify Learning Company has known since the beginning that education is going to be one of the most impacted industries in the world when it comes to AI. Sure, this brings competition, but the fact that we prioritized course specificity and insights for professors before almost anyone else has proven to be a strong start to our journey of being the dominant player in the "educational AI" space. We have a lot of great new capabilities like voice mode, lesson plan mode, group mode, and more coming soon, and I believe that this interview is a testament to the great journey we are on, which is to build the best learning platform in the world. https://lnkd.in/gXDDjUm9

Last week we debuted our Group Mode concept, which is designed to solve the post-pandemic need for students to have a community/tribe of other students to collaborate with when it comes to studying for the same course. AI is a tool, not a teammate. While it is without a doubt the most impactful technology we’ve ever seen and will remain the engine of our platform, we acknowledge its limitations when it comes to things like fostering motivations behind a shared goal, thinking outside the box based on unique experiences and cultural backgrounds, and more. These strengths belong to humans alone and will be very difficult to artificially replicate. Sure, this mode will allow for multiple students to interact with one course-specific AI model if they’d like, but at its core, Groups is designed to help people build communities with eachother and lean on each others strengths as one team, which is sorely needed given the loneliness epidemic we are currently experiencing.

Our team is extremely excited to see the release of OpenAI's video generation product, Sora. The video generation capabilities that companies like OpenAI and Runway have created are amazing tools for creators, and that includes our team here at Cognify Learning Company. We've mentioned the plans for our upcoming Lesson Plan Mode already, which will allow students to test and track their understanding of the material through mock exams, etc., but what I'm most excited about when it comes to this mode is how we plan to use video generation to create a whole new way of learning. We are very excited to be debuting our speech-to-speech capability, Conversation Mode, here in the next few months! Unlike other speech capabilities, Conversation Mode is able to intelligently portray complicated items like equations and instructions in a text format, making it easier for the user to follow along in the conversation. This text + speech hybrid interface is inspired by the way professors explain complicated topics through voice while also writing the main points on a white board. This approach has been used for many years because it works, and now, this approach will be available through your very own 24/7/365 Cognify Assistant.🙌

Our o1 integration beta is now live and available! Unlike traditional models, o1 takes more time to think through it’s logic before providing a response, which makes it more ideal for the mechanical engineering, finance, and differential equations courses we are deployed in. Our educator dashboard is capable of capturing this new model’s queries and we will soon be integrating our course-specific data sets as well.🙌

A first look at our upcoming voice mode, which is designed to allow students to brainstorm with our models in a seamless and natural way! Unlike other speech-to-speech platforms, this feature allows students to talk to the model while seeing complex concepts visually represented—just like a professor explaining something while writing on a whiteboard. We are happy to report that our platform is currently generating over 1,000 student queries per week per course, with a site visit lasting 3 minutes longer than average use with foundational platforms like Claude, Llama, etc. We recently spoke on Cognify’s value proposition during the OpenAI Changes Everything podcast.
