  • 🌊🦪 Cookbook Giveaway! 🦪🌊 We’re excited to feature founding member and CSA Chef Lead Sammy Monsour in our next National Seafood Month giveaway, highlighting his succulent recipe for Savory Oyster Bread Pudding from his cookbook “Salt & Shore.” 🦪🍞 This dish pays homage to the beloved oyster, a Southern delicacy with deep cultural roots and a critical role in the sustainability of our oceans. Oysters aren’t just delicious—they’re one of the cleanest marine foods. These remarkable mollusks filter up to 50 gallons of water a day, helping to clean our waterways while offering a naturally sustainable food source. 🌊 At Lowcountry Oysters in Charleston, farmer and fellow CSA member Trey McMillian works to cultivate some of the freshest oysters while supporting the health of our marine ecosystems. 🌿 As the world’s fastest-growing food system, aquaculture—done right—presents a solution for feeding our growing population in a sustainable, responsible way. It’s time to rethink what we know about farm-raised seafood and celebrate sustainable marine farming alongside our terrestrial farmers. 🐟 How to Enter on INSTAGRAM: 1️⃣ Tag someone you’d love to cook this dish with—or for! 2️⃣ Follow @csaquaculture and @samuelmonsour on INSTAGRAM 📆 Winners will be announced via DM at the end of October! Join us in celebrating National Seafood Month with this oyster-inspired giveaway, and stay tuned for more delicious cookbooks throughout October! 🐟💚

Established in 1997 by Captain Charlie Phillips, this family-owned farm is more than just a business—it’s a way of life. 🌊 Captain Charlie’s 40+ years of experience in shrimping, fishing, and shellfish farming ensure that Sapelo Sea Farms operates sustainably, protecting the waters while providing some of the freshest clams along the Eastern Seaboard. 🦪 How to Enter on INSTAGRAM: 1️⃣ Tag someone you’d love to cook this dish with—or for! 2️⃣ Follow @csaquaculture and @chefarmermatthew on INSTAGRAM 📆 Winners will be announced via DM at the end of October! • 🎉 Cookbook Giveaway! 🎉 We’re kicking off our first cookbook giveaway for National Seafood Month with a fantastic recipe from founding chef member Valentine Thomas JD! Get ready to cook up her Cajun Fried Catfish on Jalapeno Corn Bread from her book ”Good Catch.” 🐟🔥 At the Coalition for Sustainable Aquaculture, we’re passionate about supporting sustainable, American farm-raised seafood, such as catfish from the Mississippi Delta. It’s clean, healthy, and absolutely delicious. 🌿 U.S. aquaculture currently accounts for only 7% of our national seafood production, with the rest coming from well-managed wild fisheries. However, even when combining domestic wild-caught and farm-raised seafood, it still falls short of meeting the growing demand—an estimated 90% of the seafood consumed in the U.S. is imported.🌍 That’s why we support the expansion of U.S. aquaculture into offshore federal waters. This is about advancing science, promoting sustainability, and ensuring social equity within our seafood systems. How to Enter on INSTAGRAM: 1️⃣ Tag someone you’d love to cook this dish with—or for! 2️⃣ Follow @csaquaculture and @valentinethomas on INSTAGRAM 📆 Winners will be announced via DM at the end of October! Stay tuned for more cookbook giveaways throughout October! 🐟💚
